Midleton GAA , Camogie & Ladies Football Club News

Senior Hurling 
Our Senior hurlers play their first League game Wednesday next the 17th away to Na Piarsaigh @ 7.30pm.

Fitzgibbon Cup Hurling
Well done to Patrick White (1-00) who played at corner forward and Joe Loftus who were members of the CIT panel who defeated UUJ in the second round recently, hard luck to Cormac Walsh who was part of the UCC panel who were defeated by LIT 1-14 to 2-15 in the Markdyke last Tuesday. 

Inter County Hurling
Hard luck to our club players Conor Lehane (0-01) and Luke O’Farrell (0-01) (both used substitutes), Paul Haughney and Killian Burke (both out injured) and selector Pat Hartnett who were part of the  Cork Senior hurlers who were defeated in their League game last Sunday by Galway in Pearse Stadium by 1-27 to 1-21.
Their next game is on Saturday evening the 20th v Waterford in Pairc Ui Rinn @ 7pm.
 
Junior Hurling
Training is currently taking place on Wednesday night’s @ 7 pm in the club. Anyone interested in attending are more than welcome, Patrick Dunlea can be contacted at 087-8135066 for further details.

Junior Football
Our footballers will compete in the 27th PhoneWatch Comórtas Peile Páidí Ó Sé 2016. 
This adult men’s and ladies Gaelic Football tournament and festival takes place next weekend from the 19th to 21st all across the Dingle Peninsula. We will play in the six team Junior men’s Cup in a round robin competition and are up against Round Towers of London in the first round followed by Rosenallis of Laois. Other teams in our group include West Kerry’s Castlegregory, Dulwich Harps of London and St Breckan’s of Lisdoonvarna, Clare.  
Over 1,300 footballers and supporters from Ireland and abroad will attend.

Fe21 Football Championship
Our footballers will more than likely be playing Aghada in the “A” Championship on Saturday/Sunday March 6/7th.

Stress Control Course
In conjunction with our Healthy Club group and Jennifer Hayes of the HSE South a Stress Control course will take place in the Midleton Park Hotel beginning next Monday 15th and continuing each Monday morning from 10 am - 11.30 am on the following dates 22nd & 29th of February and 7th, 14th and 21st of March.

Our Membership Rates for 2016 are as follows;   
Adult: Waged , Player (Gym inclusive)          €150
Adult: Student, Player (Gym inclusive           €100 
Adult: Unemployed, Player (Gym inclusive)  €100  
Adult: Waged, Non Player + Gym                  €150
Adult: Waged, Non Player (Without Gym )     €80  
Adult: OAP > 66yrs.                                        €30

Camogie
2016 training as follows;
Under 10 & Under 12:  23rd Feb    6pm -7pm, Midleton College  all weather pitch. 
Under 6, & Under 8:  March 4th   7pm -8pm, Midleton Community Centre.  
All current players must re-register ahead of training. New members always welcome.

Ladies Football 
Well done to Orlagh Farmer who lined out in the Wing back position for Cork's defeat over Tyrone on Sunday last, the full time score was Cork 2-21 v Tyrone 1-03.
All groups will return to training on Monday Night.
We welcome back the U10's to the Hockey pitch from 7-8 pm. Here they will join the U12's to U16. Our Junior Ladies will continue their core training from 7.30 to 8.30 pm. 
The U8's are in the Community Centre from 6-7 pm. 
Dates for your diaries: 
March 5th is our annual Social Night in Midleton Gaa Club.
March 20th is our Fun Bingo night in the Gaa Club where everyone is welcome to join us for some delicious prizes.

Lotto
Our Lotto Jackpot was €3,800, there was no winner, the numbers were 9,12,18 & 20 , the lucky dip winners were Declan/Caoimhe Ryan, N & E Griffin, Lil Driscoll, Rancher and Matt Lehane, next week’s Jackpot will be €4,000. Tickets are on sale at the Club Bar, O ‘Neills Bar, Linehan’s Bar, Maple Leaf Bar, O’ Farrell’s Butchers, Frank Murphy Butchers, Pat Walsh Paints, Chadwicks, Teach Beag & Niall Mac’s Bars.

BINGO takes place each Friday evening at 8pm in the GAA Pavilion with a weekly guaranteed Jackpot of €1,000 on 52 calls, €920 Green Sheet 48 calls and €410 Blue Sheet Lucky number.  

Club Shop
The shop will be open each Saturday morning from 10 to 12. 

Juvenile Indoor Training 
Our Indoor training resumed last Saturday in the Community Centre and will continue at the same times over the coming months.

Rebel Og Workshops
Rebel Og Coaching has a series of workshops in the coming weeks.
Please note that Martin Fogarty’s workshop on Monday 15th of February is full.
Individual and team attacking play through games based training for youths/adults at Mallow GAA Complex 7.30pm Fri 19th February, Coach: Seam Dempsey
Injury Prevention Workshop. Suitable for players from approx 12 years old up at Nemo Rangers 7.00pm Monday 22nd February, Coach: Liam Reilly
Injury Prevention Workshop. Suitable for players from approx 12 years old up at Mallow GAA Complex 7.00pm Friday 26th February, Coach: Liam Reilly
GAA Nursery Workshop at Mallow GAA Complex 4pm Sat 27th February with Dr. Wesley O’ Brien
Injury Prevention Workshop at Clonakilty GAA Complex 7.00pm Monday 29th February, Coach: Liam Reilly
Online Concussion Workshop, Rebel Og Coaching have a workshop available to club players, coaches, mentors and anyone who may be interested in the area of Concussion.
The Workshop will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and will be available until the 27th of December.
