East Cork Fe 21 Hurling Semi Final
Midleton 3-20 Castlelyons 3-05
The Magpies enjoyed a comprehensive victory over Castlelyons in Lisgoold on Sunday evening last in the semi final of the East Cork Championship. The first half was evenly balanced as Castlelyons scored two goals to put it up to our lads. Midleton responded well on both occasions with a succession of points. Midleton led by 1-09 to 2-03 at the break thanks to a Pa Whyte goal just before half time. The second was a much more one sided event with Midleton raising their game. Luke O’Farrell added two more goals and the result was in no doubt long before the final whistle. Midleton now await the winners of Sars and Erins Own in the final.

Senior Hurling Championship.
Midleton are in Senior Hurling Championship action this coming Sunday when the face Douglas in Pair ui Chaoimh with a 4pm throw in. Championship games are coming thick and fast at the moment with Minor, Fe 21 and Cork Fe 21’s making it difficult for the Senior mentors to get their squad together. Expectations are high again this year but it is a case of one game at a time as any outcome is possible when it gets to this stage of the Championship. A big performance will be required to overcome a Douglas side who are more than capable of causing a surprise and will relish their role as underdogs. We wish the best of luck to all involved.
