Christmas Trees Sale Event

Many thanks to all who supported our Christmas Tree Sale Event this weekend. This is the first year that we ran this initiative and funds raised will be used for our New Development. 

Lotto

Congratulations to Kevin Lordan who won the Jackpot of €5,000 in our Club Lotto.

Fixtures

U21 Premier 1 Hurling Championship Final Dec 21st. Time, Venue and Opposition TBC.

We will be playing the winners of Sarsfields and Blackrock who won their quarter final’s this weekend. 

Bingo & 45 Drive

Bingo takes place every Friday at 8pm. Jackpot  € 1,000. Sheet values: Green €360, Blue €500, Pink € 500, T & C apply. Why not have a different night out with family or friends over the Christmas period  20th & 27th Dec. Everybody welcome.

Another big crowd this week for our 45 drive with Club Chairman again dominating winning two of the four finals. Hannah Beausang also showing some excellent form taking two runner up spots  as well as qualifying for two further finals for next week.

Juvenile

Fé8

This week saw the last training session before Christmas for the majority of teams. A welcome break is due to the players, coaches and parents alike. The message from coaches is to have a good break over the coming weeks and that the fun will re-commence in 2020.

Last night we held our annual awards night for our Fé10-16 age groups. In front of a large attendance medals and player awards were presented to each group. Team managers from each group spoke about the successful year they had. The following awards were presented on the night :

Fé11 Most Improved Footballer: Patrick Collins

Fé11 Most Improved Hurler: James O Meara

Fé12 Most Improved Footballer: Eoin Hurley

Fé12 Most Improved Hurler: Lochlann Stewart

Fé14 Most Improved Player: Darragh Ahern

Fé14 Player of the Year: Darragh Fitzgerald

Fé16 Player of the Year: Ciarmhac Smyth

Presentations were also made to our Fé16 Management who are now finished in the Juvenile section of our Club. We wish them well and thank them for the years of dedication shown towards the team. 

Thank you to Andrew Foley who was on hand once again with his camera. Andrew took some fantastic photos throughout the year at various matches and blitzes. 

Finally Thank you to all those who helped on the night with the serving of food, tidying the hall and organising the raffle tickets for the draw.  

Our Juvenile Christmas draw took place in the Club Lounge. Thank you to everyone who helped to sell tickets and to those who bought tickets.Thank you to all those who donated a prize. This is a huge fundraiser for the running of the Juvenile section. Congratulations to all those who won a prize. You may collect these in the Club shop on a Saturday morning from 10-11.30 am. 

Our Juvenile section are now on a well deserved break. We wish all our Players and their Families a very Happy Christmas.

Camogie

Midleton Camogie Club is delighted  to be able to announce that we will field a Junior Camogie Team for the first time in 2020. This marks an historic and important step in the development of Camogie in Midleton.

Training will commence in the New Year and everybody who has already expressed an interest in participating will be contacted in advance.

We continue to look  for  Players / Mentors, so if you are interested, or know of somebody who may be interested, in getting involved please contact Aisling  O’Connor (085 2049541) or Brian Gleeson (086 3329661).

Huge Congratulations to Yvonne Abernethy who has been selected for the Cork U16A Camogie panel for 2020!!

Christmas Food Appeal

Midleton Gaa, Juvenile, Ladies Football and Camogie Clubs are once again running our Christmas Food appeal for St Vincent de Paul. All donations of non-perishable items would be greatly received and can be left at the Club Shop on Saturday mornings or can be donated at the Camogie social (Dec15th). Many thanks to all those who donated at the Ladies Football Social, the Fé6-9 Boys social and Fé10-16 Boys social.

Please note that this is the last Saturday to collect gear as we will not be open on December 21st.

St Stephen’s Day Long Puc

Our annual Seán Keohane Long Puc takes place on St Stephen’s Day. Buses will depart the Club at 9.00am. This year it was decided that all Adults will be asked to pay €10 and all money received will go towards the Irish Heart Foundation.
