The Sports Capital grants are Government funding that Sports and Community organisations receive to develop sports and physical recreation facilities. We are pleased to announce that Midleton Gaa Club has received €76,682 towards our New Club Development at Park South.

U21 Premier 1 Hurling Championship Semi Final

Yesterday our U21 team were the first game as part of a double header in Pairc Uí Rinn. We faced Shandrum in the semi final of the Hurling Championship. It took a while for the scores to come and it was 10 minutes before we registered our first score. Going in a half time it was Midleton who were out on top 2-04 to 0-05. We settled well in the second half and produced some excellent scores while our backs defended brilliantly.

Final score Midleton 3-14 Shandrum 0-12.

Team: Alan Power, Adam Daly, Sean O Sullivan, Cathal Gunning, Cormac O Brien, Sean O Leary Hayes (01), Sean O Meara (04), Eoin Moloney, Sam Quirke (02), Ross O Regan (02), Tommy O Connell, Padraig O Brien (1-02), Kian Farmer, Garan Manley (1-03,1f),Kevin Finn (1-0). We are now through to the final but must wait to see who we will play as the other side of the draw is not yet complete.

Minor Premier 1 Hurling League Final

On Monday last our Minor Team lined out for the last time this year where they took on Sarsfield in the Minor League Final in Pairc Uí Chaoimh at 8.15pm. This Panel were hoping to secure the last of the cups on offer for this age group having won the Non Exam League, C3 League and the Minor Championship already this year. There was nothing between the teams as they point exchanged point for point throughout the game. Unfortunately it was not our night as we lost out by one single point. Well done to all the lads on the Panel for the tremendous effort they put in during the year. Best of luck to all the lads who are now finished with Minor as they move on up the ranks within the  Club. We look forward to watching you all from the sidelines.

Final score on the night was Midleton 0-20, Sarsfield  0-21.

Midleton Camogie AGM, Wednesday 13th November 2019, 7.30pm

A very welcome crowd turned out on a cold Wednesday night (13th November) for the Camogie AGM. The agenda on the night was a typical agm agenda with many reports of fantastic achievements and developments for the club over the last 12 months. Officers and team mangers alike accounted for the commitment and dedication of all involved throughout the year.

Sincere thanks was expressed to the outgoing committee, many who have been involved since the inception of the club in 2014. In particular Darina Foley and Sheila Kelly who were instrumental in the set of the club. We also said goodbye to the Chairperson, Deputy Chair, County Board Rep and Vice Secretary. Thanks was expressed to Eoin Kennedy, Brian Gleeson, Keith Griffin and Anita Hennessey for their part in these roles and for their work over the previous couple of years. While those named are stepping aside from officer roles many of them continue to coach with the club.

Our PRO, Sinead Garde and Treasurer Rachel Walsh remain with the committee with the welcome addition of Tracy Ryan as Vice Secretary and Connor Pyne as Vice Chair. Our new Chairperson for the coming year is Ingrid Connaughton. One or two positions remain vacant and the new committee are working hard to fill these positions over the next week or two. Aside from vacant positions the committee are looking to add some new positions which is a reflection of the growing numbers and as a result the work required. Team managers for the coming season and their background teams were also proposed on the night with final arrangements being confirmed within the coming weeks.

The Committee would like to sincerely thank all those who attended either in person or in sprit and are very grateful for all the good wishes received from everyone. We would also like to thank the Adult club, the Juvenile Club and the Ladies Football club for their continued support. Along with the girls and their parents we look forward to an exciting 2020 once we get over the Christmas season.
