Camogie (Camógaíochta)
U14 Autumn League v Carrigtwohill - We played the semi-final of the last Wednesday night on a cold, damp evening for camogie. They opened the scoring with a point from play and even though we had plenty of chances it took twenty minutes before we got our first score with  a goal from a 45. Carrigtwohill responded with a point from a free just before the half time break to make it 1-0 goal to 0-2 to us at halftime.  After the half time break the girls flew into action and despite Carrigtwohill getting the first point again from a free we responded quickly by scoring two goals in quick succession to put us into a 6 point lead. In the closing ten minutes Carrigtwohill fought hard to get some more scores however a strong defence and some outstanding goal keeping denied them any goals. Their final score was another point from a free. After a quick puck out from our goal keeper the ball was driven into the forward line from midfield and we scored our final point from play. This was a tough match between two skilful and hardworking teams. We now go on to play Erin’s Own in the final next Saturday in Castle Road at 11am.

AGM
We held our AGM on Wednesday evening last, the meeting was well attended and we would like to thank those present for their support.  2108 was a long, busy and successful year for the club. Training began back in January and has continued for all groups into November. With our U8/U10/U11’s participating in Go Games and training twice a week. Our U12 played their way to a League Final. The U13’s reached the semi final stages of the Imokilly league. Our U14’s have had a great year getting to the Feile B Semi Final, the B Championship Quarter final and for the second year in a row winning the  U14C League Final,  but these girls are not done yet,  with a win over Carrigtwohill this week they play Erins Own on Saturday next in the Autumn League Final. Our U15’s reached the Imokilly League Plate Semi Final and won the Clonmult Tournament, Our U16 played in championship and league reaching the quarter final of the league.  We have also had club representation on the Imokilly U13 and U15 panels the Cork U14 & U15 and Minor panels.  But success is not measured by silverware alone but by participation and our numbers continue to grow year on year, in 2018 we catered for players from under 6 to under 17 and in 2019 we will for the first time field a minor team. The club would like to acknowledge the contribution of our older players who have throughout the year supported the club and the younger girls through refereeing Go Games, assisting with the Cul Camps, attending matches carrying water/hurleys and providing plenty of support from the side line or anything else that is asked of them, they have proved themselves to be wonderful role models for the younger girls.  We would like to thank all out mentors for giving of their time and energy and enthusiasm, without them we would have no club.  Thanks to Midleton GAA for their ongoing support of the camogie club. We wish to acknowledge outgoing officers Shirley Garde and Brian McCarthy and thank them for their hard work and contribution to the club. The following officers were elected for 2019: Chairperson: Eoin Kennedy, Vice Chairman: Brian Gleeson, Secretary: Darina Foley, Assistant Secretary: Anita Hennessey, Treasurer: Rachel Walsh, Child Welfare Officer: Ingrid Connaughton, PRO: Sinead Garde, Registrar: Sheila Kelly and County Board Rep: Keith Griffin.

Training for all groups has now to an end for this year our last group standing were our   U6/U7 who finished up indoor training last Friday evening.
Midleton Camogie wish all our players, mentors, officers and supporters a very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year,  after a busy year on and off the field  we look forward to doing it all over again in 2019.
