Midleton Hurling & Football Notes
Senior Hurling League
Last Sunday in Midleton a large crowd gathered for the Senior Hurling league meeting between the County Intermediate and Senior champions Youghal and Midleton. Conditions were as good as could be expected and the game proved to be a very even affair throughout with the goals being decisive for us. They started the sharper and it took some time for us to get going. A great run and an attempt at goal by Killian Burke led to a fine save from their goal keeper only for Cormac Walsh to finish off the rebound. Not to be outdone by his younger brother Eoin Walsh soon after also got his name on score sheet with an opportunist goal to leave the score at halftime Midleton 2.03 v Youghal 0.08. In the second half we upped our performance and put some nice scores on the board but they never gave up and replied with a number of good points also. In the end we held on for the victory by 2.13 v 0.14.
Team: Tommy Wallis (0.01F), Aylwin Kearney, Patrick O Mahony, Elliot Mulcahy, Seamus O Farrell, Finbar O Mahony, James Nagle, Peter Dowling (0.01), Killian Burke (0.01), Cormac Walsh (1.07 5F), Aidan Ryan, Padraig O Shea, Sean O Farrell (0.02), Eoin Walsh (1.00) & Padraig O Keeffe (0.01).
