Midleton Hurling & Football Notes

Senior Hurling Championship
Last Sunday afternoon in Pairc Ui Chaoimh our senior hurlers produced a great performance to defeat Na Piarsaigh in the County hurling semi final.
They came out of the blocks much faster than us and went into an early lead with two points and then a rather fortuitous goal. But we never panicked a fine point from Aidan Ryan shortly followed by a goal from the same player settled us into the game and when Conor Lehane fired home a bullet after some great team work it put us in the driving seat. With our defence on top further points from Lehane, Luke O Farrell and Brian Hartnett put us into a halftime lead of 2-08 v 1-04.
In the second half we continued where we left off and points from all of our forwards pushed us into a commanding lead and with our defence magnificent we never relinquished it and ran out convincing winners by 2-21 to 1-06.
After a wait of 19 years we can now look forward to the County Final v Sars which takes place on Sunday 3rd of November in Pairc Ui Chaoimh @ 3pm.
