ADULT CLUB

UNDER 21 A HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL

MIDLETON 3-15 BRIDE ROVERS 0-11

Our U-21 A hurlers took on Bride Rovers in the East Cork semi-final on Saturday in Glenville. 

We played with the strong breeze in the first-half and after a slow start we the stormed into the game scoring 2-3 in six minutes to lead by 2-3 to 0-1 after the opening quarter with the goals coming from David Cremin and Mikey Finn. Mikey Finn continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over from frees and a beautiful point from Carthaigh Cronin and a second David Cremin goal saw us with a big lead, 3-10 to 0-4 at half-time. 

The second-half was always going to be a tougher test but our lads continuted to battle really hard and with Brion and his defence keeping a cleansheet, we ran out convincig winners oa final score of 3-15 to 0-11. We now take on Sarsfields in the final next Sunday....see below for details. Please support the lads if you can at all.

HARD LUCK LADS

Hard luck to County winning Midleton hurlers, Tommy Wallace, Killian Burke and Sean O'Meara who narrowly lost out to Brothers Pearse in the London Senior Hurling Championship Final on Saturday.

We'd like to wish Jerry Wallace the best of luck as he takes over as manager of the Waterford senior camogie team. 

 

WEDDING BELLS

JOINT CHRISTMAS PARTY 

This year the Juvenile, Camogie and Ladies Football clubs are combining for an U-6 to U-10 Christmas party on this coming Sunday, December 17..here are the details....PLEASE NOTE THE LATER START TIME....this is to facilitate people travelling to support Midleton in the East Cork U-21 AHC Final.....

 

2023 SEAN KEOHANE MEMORIAL LONG PUC

It's that time of year again. As always the Sean Keohane Memorial Long Puc will take place on St. Stephen's Day from Lisgoold to Midleton. Buses will leave at 9am sharp. All proceeds will go to Midleton Meals on Wheels. Full details above.

 

MAGPIES ALL STARS

The Magpies All Star team and their families gathered at the club juvenile awards last week to celebrate the fantastic achievement of playing the half-time game in Croke Park in July during the Senior Football Quarter Final fixture of Cork versus Derry.

They represented the club with distinction in a brilliant game against the Derry GAA For All team. Congratulations and well done to them all.

The Magpies All Stars with Santa and his Elves at the recent Wagpies Christmas Party. 

 

JUVENILES 

FÉ10S

The Fé10 boys wrapped up 2023 recently with a final training session including a mixture of hurling football and obstacle course fun. Well done boys. Thanks to all the coaches for their commitment throughout the year. Looking forward to 2024.

 

CAMOGIE 

CHRISTMAS PARTIES

Our U-11 and over Christmas party will take place on Saturday 16th of December in the club from 6pm. Music will be provided on the night and a great time is guaranteed. 

Our U-6 to U-10 Christmas party will be held on Sunday 17th at 4.30pm to 6pm in the club, shared with juvenile boys and ladies football. See above for details.

It kicks off at 7.30pn every Friday night and is over by 9pm. A single book is €6. A double book is €12.

SOCIAL DANCING

Dancing this Saturday night, December 16, to the excellent Adrian Ryan. It starts at 9.15pm and a great night is assured.

 

 

CLUB SHOP

IMPORTANT NOTICE - This Saturday, December 16, is the last day for collection of orders in the club shop before Christmas. The shop will be open from 9.30am to 11am. After this the shop will be closed untill February. 

All you have to do is go to the Klubfunder website (www.klubfunder.com/Clubs/Midleton%20GAA/ShopItems) and you will see the full range of what’s available to buy. You can shop away to your heart’s content, pay for it online and then collect your purchases at the club shop on Saturday morning between 9.30am and 11am. Thank you.

Also, new style club half zips (pictured below) have now arrived in stock. But please not that we have a very limited umber of each size so first come first served. And remember Saturday is the last day of the shop until February. 

 

TEDDY MCCARTHY NIGHT

Well done to Tommy O'Connell (pictured below in action on the night), Conor Lehane and Cormac Beausang who all played for Cork in their victory over Galway on the special tribute evening to the late Teddy McCarthy on Saturday last in Pairc Uí Chaoimh.

Cork also won the football game against Meath in front of Teddy McCarthy's family, former team-mates and a big crowd of well wishers.

We have a smashing club house, bar and hall, at Midleton GAA Club and don't forget that these are available to hire for functions....see below for details....

 

PLEASE PLAY YOUR PART

Unfortunately there has been a rise in the amount of dogs being walked in Park South recently, especially during matches and training sessions. Please spread the word that only assistance dogs are permitted in both of our club grounds at Park South and Clonmult Memorial Park. 

Please do not bring single-use plastic bottles to either Park South or Clonmult Memorial Park.
Please put your rubbish in a bin or bag and please bring your gear home with you.
And always be aware of the open water surrounding the pitches in Park South.
If you are a coach, please pass on these simple messages to players and parents.
All members are asked to respect referees and their officials at all times.
Also if you are a coach, last person out locks the gate, toilet and container.
