TWO CHRISTMAS PARTIES THIS YEAR

We are having two Christmas parties this year....here are the details....

Please note that the second one (Sunday, December 17) is for boys and girls from U-6 to U-10.

FÉ16S

On Saturday morning last our U16 hurlers and footballers started a busy weekend of fixtures. First up was the visit of Douglas for the semi-final of the Div. 1 U-16 hurling championship (see above).

In an entertaining hour of hurling, we came out on the wrong side of a 3-13 to 1-5 defeat. The scoreboard did not reflect the effort as we were very competitive throughout the hour. Unfortunately, our shooting on the day let us down with a total of 14 wides.

Next up we travelled to Bishopstown for the semi-final of the U-16 P1 hurling championship versus Sarsfields. This was a repeat of the U-15 final of 2022. From the off a huge battle ensued, with our opponents getting the better of the early exchanges moving into a 0-5 to 0-1. Playing against a very strong breeze, we settled and started to get scores with a goal from Sean Crowley keeping us in the game at half-time. We were behind 0-12 to 1-7 at the break.

The second-half was no different, again our opponets took their scores well and were keeping us at bay. As we battled, our scores were coming thick and fast another Sean Crowley goal followed by a Ryan Fitzsimmons goal put us in a good position with ten minutes remaining. A goal from Sars kept it tight but we held out in the end on a score line of 3-13 to 1-17. We now play Douglas in the final on Sunday December 3 at 4.30pm in Bishopstown.

We finished the weekend on Monday back in Bishopstown for our U16 Football championship. Again after an exhausting weekend the lads put in a huge shift but came on the wrong side of a 4-12 to 1-7 defeat. Despite the tired bodies, Captain Tomás Geary, Tiago Fleming, Noah Cahill, Luke Riordan, Daniel Donovan, Eoin Hurley, and Conor Finn to mention a few put in a massive effort on the night. Well done to all our players this weekend.

Midleton captain against Mayfield, Tomás Geary.

CAMOGIE

MINORS

Best of luck to our minor team who are through to a championship semi-final versus Blackrock at home in Clonmult Memorial Park at 1pm tomorrow (Sunday, November 26). Wishing the girls, coaches and mentors the best of luck and please come out to support the girls.

It was great that everybody got an overview of the fantastic work that’s being done on a daily basis by all involved in the Camogie club from the U-6s right up to our Junior County Champions. Looking forward to our new season.

As the Christmas shopping season is now underway, we are making a special plea to all our members and supporters to shop local this Festive Season and all year round.
