DINNER DANCE

County and multiple East Cork winning Junior B manager, Gavin Power, received a presentation on the night from Barry Fitzgerald on behalf of the Junior B panel.
On Friday night last Midleton GAA Club held a dinner dance in Midleton Park Hotel to celebrate the fantastic successes of our teams over the past three years. On the night the following teams were honoured:

The organising committee of Cormac Walsh, Tracy Saunderson, Terence McCarthy and Mairéad Beausang would like to thank most sincerely Midleton Park Hotel, in particular Martina McAteer and Diarmuid Vaughan for their help and professionalism, there is no doubt they pulled out all the stops on the night for us. Midleton GAA wishes Midleton Park Hotel every success for the future.

SENIOR HURLING LEAGUE
Our senior hurlers began their RedFM Senior Hurling League campaign at home to Douglas on Sunday last.
After a strong opening half we led at the break on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-5 with the goal coming from Cormac Beausang.
Douglas were the better team in the second-half and they ran out winners at the full-time whistle on a score of 1-17 to 1-11.
Scorers: Cormac Beausang 1-3; David Cremin 0-2, Sean O’Leary Hayes, Pa White, Sam Quirke, James Nagle, Tommy O’Connell (F) and Aaron Mulcahy (F) 0-1 each.
MIDLETON: Brion Saunderson, Sean O’Leary Hayes, David Scanlon, Seadnaidh Smyth, Ciarmhac Smyth, Tommy O’Connell, Sam Quirke, Sean O’Meara, Aaron Mulchay, David Cremin, Ross O’Regan, Pa White, Garan Manley, Cormac Beausang, Alex Quirke. Our next league game is away to Newtownshandrum on Sunday week (March 27) at 12 noon.

Congratulations to our Junior Ladies who were presented with their 2019 Junior A East Cork Championship Medals at last Friday night’s dinner dance. A great night was had by all. Many thanks to the organising committee for bringing everyone together to celebrate the huge success across all teams in the club.
Congratulations to our Junior Player Abby Quirke who played with the winning MTU team that won the All-Ireland Colleges Football final last Friday.

OPEN DAY & SWAP SHOP
Thank you to everyone who came along to our Camogie Open Day & Swap Shop on Saturday Morning Last 12th March. Great to see all the new faces and much enthusiasm on show ahead of the new season .Thank you to the Committee for organising, our Coaching Officer Mark O’Sullivan and the club for use of the hall.
A special thank you to all who donated to our Swap Shop and for the kind donations we received to our Local Charity, we will advise with final figure shortly.
CORK MINORS
Huge Congratulations to Jerry Wallace and the Cork Minor team on another win in the All-Ireland Quarter Final against Waterford on Sunday at Castle Road. Another cleansheet for our own Jill Connaughton as she stood between the posts representing her club and county. Final score: Cork 0-10 to Waterford 0-9 (after extra-time).

It’s that time of year again. Membership for 2022 is now due. The membership rates are the same as last year. These are the different categories and fees.
ADULT NON PLAYER - €100
Non Player, Team Mentor, Officer, Committee Member: Must be paid by 31st March 2022 for Membership to 31st March 2023.
ADULT PLAYER (INCLUDING GYM) - €200
Employed Player 18 years+ including Gym. Must be paid by 31st March 2022 for membership to 31st March 2023.
ADULT PLAYER (INCLUDING GYM) – FULL-TIME STUDENT/APPRENTICE/UNEMPLOYED - €100
18yrs+ Adult Player Including Gym - You must be a Full Time Student or Apprentice or be Unemployed to avail of this option. Must be paid by 31st March 2022 for Membership to 31st March 2023.
ADULT NON PLAYER OAP OR UNEMPLOYED - €50
Non Player, OAP (65+), Unemployed: Must be paid by 31st May to have Voting Rights. Must be paid by 31st March 2022 for Membership to 31st March 2023
DIASPORA MEMBER - €50
A member who lives away from the club perhaps elsewhere in Ireland or abroad. This is a Social Membership only with no voting rights. Must be paid by 31st March 2022 for Membership to 31st March 2023

Employed Child/Children do not qualify for Family Membership. Child/Children born in 2003 or before do not qualify for Family Membership. Family Membership does not include the Gym. Additional Gym costs are €100pp per year. Must be over 18 years of age. Must be paid by 31st March 2022 for Membership to 31st March 2023.
YOUTH PLAYER – SENIOR INFANTS TO FE 18 - €135
Player must be under 18 Years of Age on 1st Jan 2022. Players in this category do not have Voting Rights until they reach their 18th Birthday. Must be paid by 31st March 2022 for Membership to 31st March 2023.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING WORKSHOP
Midleton GAA will run a child safeguarding 1 workshop on 27th April 2022 in the club. To book a place on the course please email childrensofficer.midleton.cork@gaa.ie.
GYM REOPENED
Our club Gym has now re-opened to members. Access FOBs have been re activated.
Please note that some of the equipment will be undergoing some service work over the coming weeks so apologies in advance for any inconvenience.
LOTTO
Our Lotto Jackpot was a choice of €20,000 or a VW Golf 1.0 TSI (in partnership with Blackwater Motors) the numbers were 4, 15 & 27 Bonus 7.
There was no winner of the jackpot so next Friday’s jackpot will remain the same. There was also no winner of the Match 3 jackpot worth €400.
The Lucky Dip Prize winners this week were: Aidan Ryan, Carmel McDonagh, Patrick O’Brien and Cathy Cunningham, who won €25 cash each.
In total Midleton GAA will give out local business vouchers to the value of €3,800 every year as part of our “Shop Local, Buy Local” campaign.

Our Bingo continues on Friday nights with an early game at 7.25pm. Everyone is welcome.

The Midleton GAA club shop is back up and running for the 2022 season but please note that it’s still online with collection only at the club on a Saturday morning.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY & GOLD CUP DAY
Please note that we will have loads of boys and girls taking part in the Midleton St. Patrick's Day, which gets underway at 3pm so get out and give them some support.
All members, families and their friends are more than welcome to return to the club house for refreshments after the parade.
The club bar will also be open on Friday, also a holiday, for the Cheltenham Gold Cup. First race is 1.30pm and all members and friends are welcome.
