Midleton Hurling and Football, Ladies Football and Camogie Club News

28 November, 2021

Midleton GAA…at the ‘Heart of the Community’.

Ní neart go cur le chéile. There is no strength without unity.

It’s like the morning after the night before this week with a buoyant and celebratory club catching it’s collective breath after a scintillating win last Sunday. Whilst there has been a lot of content and commentary in the media, one video that stood out for me was the ‘montage’ of coverage by the Irish Examiner. Brilliant and well worth looking at again. Click on the image to view on our YouTube Channel. Many thanks to the Irish Examiner for their live coverage and commentary of not only this match but also all their work over the past 2 seasons.

In what was the last game at Juvenile hurling for some of these players, it was a good way to finish. Played in cold, windy conditions under lights in Togher the lads battled hard against a game St Finbarr’s side. Well done to all the panel and backroom team on a job well done. Magpies Abú.

U14 East Cork Championship Final

Well done to our U14 girls who defeated Bride Rovers in the East Cork Championship final on Saturday. A great team effort saw us end the season with a great win. The girls were delighted when our Senior Hurling Captain Conor Lehane stepped in for a photo with the team.

AGM

On Wednesday evening we held our AGM online. Many thanks to all those who attended. Our outgoing Chairman Paddy Corcoran reviewed the successful year we had as a club. Our numbers in all age groups going from strength to strength. Many thanks to all the coaches who give of their time each week for training and at matches. We as a club could not run without your help and it is very much appreciated all the time and effort you give. Help is always needed with all of our teams. If you are in a position to give 1/2 hours a week please consider this for the coming year.

We say goodbye to Paddy Corcoran as our chairman. Paddy is an invaluable part of our Club not only as a chairman but as a coach. We thank you for all your hard work steering our ship. We welcome Brian Sheedy who will take over the role for the coming year. Thank you Brian for stepping up and we are delighted to have you on board.

We are all now on a well earned break. We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year.
