Midleton Hurling & Football, Ladies Football & Camogie Club NEWS
04 March, 2018
Severe Weather Disruption
Last Tuesday evening a Siberian weather front hit the East and South of the country which was followed later in the week by Storm Emma up from the Bay of Biscay. This resulted in huge snowfalls the likes not seen since 1982, in parts of the south up to 50cm were recorded.
All travel, work, schools and of course games were brought to a complete standstill, as a result the Club was completely closed, our Senior hurling & Intermediate hurling games were postponed, as was the Cork v Tipperary Allianz Hurling League game and the CBS’s game v Kilkenny CBS. Dates and times for all the above games will be advised in the coming days.

50 Year’s ago
In early April of 1968 our Intermediate hurlers had a hard fought first round victory over Carrigaline at the Cork Athletic grounds by 2-10 to 3-05.
Unfortunately in the next round they lost a close match to Castletownroche by 6-08 to 5-10.
Team v Carrigaline: Willie Glavin, Willie Hennessy (RIP), David “Dots” O’ Brien (RIP), Oliver O’Keeffe, Jim O’Brien, Eamonn Barry, Donie Lordan (RIP), Paddy Fitzgerald, Paddy O’Sullivan, Teddie O’Mahony, Billy Cody, Davy O’Brien, Paddy O’Brien, Willie Flanagan (RIP) & Paddy Kelliher (RIP).
Against Castletownroche Billy O’Brien (RIP) and Noel Mulcahy replaced both Jim O’Brien and Teddie O’Mahony in a re shuffled team, Paddy Dunlea (RIP) replaced Willie Glavin during the game due to injury.
