Midleton Hurling & Football Notes

Senior Hurling Championship
Our fourth round Championship game v Douglas took place on Sunday last in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, unfortunately with the game level and three minutes left we conceded late scores to be defeated.
Despite the good start they got in the first half we settled well to lead at halftime by 0-08 v 1-09, but with almost ten minutes gone into the second half they had drawn level. In a frantic last ten minutes it was score for score with a draw looking the likely result only for the late rally by Douglas.
Our reign of County Champions is over for this year but the players and management can feel very proud of their efforts over the last number of months.
Final Score: Midleton 2-16 v Douglas 2-21
Team: Joe Loftus, Killian Burke, Alywin Kearney, Seamus O’ Farrell (capt.), James Nagle, Finbar O’ Mahony, Cormac Walsh, Paul Haughney (0-02), Peter Dowling, Luke O’ Farrell (1-02), Aidan Ryan, Padraig O’ Shea (0-01), Patrick White, Conor Lehane (0-10 8 free’s) & Brian Hartnett (1-01).
Sub used Seanaidh Smyth for Patrick White.
