Cork Championship Draw 2019

On Tuesday last the draw for the 2019 Cork Hurling Championship took place in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Our Senior Team will take on The Glen in Round 1 while our Intermediate Team will face Meelin.

 

Harty Cup

Midleton CBS will take on De La Salle College Waterford in the Harty Cup Semi Final. Throw in next Saturday Jan 26th is at 1.30pm at Fraher Field Dungarvan.

Christian Brothers Cork will face Thurles CBS in the other Semi Final.

 

Dinner Dance

Midleton GAA Club will hold a Dinner Dance on Saturday 2nd of March 2019 in Midleton Park Hotel.  3 course meal and then dance the night away with a DJ until late!  Tickets €40 are available by contacting Mairéad Beausang 087-2412010,  Paudie O’Brien 086-7725411. Tickets will also be available in the club bar on Friday nights between 8pm and 9pm

Please note tickets must be paid for at time of purchase and will be sold on a first come first served basis so to avoid disappointment get yours early.

Membership

Membership for 2019 is now due. The Membership Rates are the same as in 2018. Payment can be made to any Club Official, at the Club Bar, to any Team Manager, Tracy Saunderson or Liam Wade. Juvenile Registration will take place on Feb 9th from 10.30am to 1pm in Midleton Gaa Club.

 

Lotto

Our Club Lotto was €4,200 and there was No Winner. Lucky Dips winners were: Virgina O Driscoll, Denis Crowley, Irene Aherne, Joe Hayes and Nuala Kearney.

Next Week’s Jackpot is €4,400.

Tickets are available at the Club Bar, O’Neill’s Bar, Linehans Bar, Maple Leaf Bar, Niall Mac’s Bar, Wallis Bar, An Teach Beag, Frank Murphy Butchers, Pat Walsh Paints, Chadwick’s and O’Farrell’s Butchers. Bingo

Bingo - One New Year resolution you can still keep ( Go to bingo once this year ). Possibly the biggest payout of the year could be next Friday. 8 to 9.45 pm. Jackpot €1,000 on 52 calls.

Game 4 €500  on 48 calls. Sheets- Green €600 on 48 calls, Blue €500 on 5 numbers and Pink €930 on 7 numbers.

 

Juvenile

Rebel Og Awards

On Saturday night the annual Rebel Og Awards were held in the Silver Springs Clayton Hotel. Midleton Gaa Club were represented by our Minor Hurling and Football Panel. Club Player Charlie Walsh represented the Pres Hurling team while the Ladies Football and Camogie Clubs had Caoimhe Cronin, Jodie Keegan O Connell, Chloe Garde and Ali Smith representing St Mary’s High School. The overall winners on the Night were the Cork Minor Camogie Team.

 

Award 1 Coaching Education Course
Midleton GAA will host an Award 1 Coach Education Course on Friday Jan 25th / Sat Jan 26th and Friday Feb 1st / Saturday Feb 2nd.
This is the second award on the coaching pathway of Gaelic Games.  All applicants must have previously completed a Certified Foundation Course.

To facilitate new coaches and coaches who may wish to brush up on their skills there will be a Child Safeguarding Workshop in the Clubhouse on Thursday 7th Feb from 6.30 to 9.30pm. Places are limited and will need to be booked on a first come first served basis by texting Ingrid on 087 6374748.

 

Midleton GAA Fé6 training resumed recently with a very enthusiastic group back after the Christmas break. We are training every Saturday morning for the next few weeks from 12 noon to 1pm in Midleton Community Centre. New members always welcome (boys currently in Junior infants).  

 

Ladies Football

Due to the unavailability of Ballinacurra pitch our training for Monday coming will move to Midleton Gaa Club for the following groups; U14 – 6.30 to 7.30pm and U16, Minor and Junior from 7.30-8.30pm . A text will be issued to all Parents confirming the change.

Our U10 and U12 Girls will return on Monday Feb 11th from 7-8pm. Venue tbc.

Our U8 group will return on Monday Feb 4th to the Community Centre from 6-7pm.

 

Camogie

We will hold our Family Table Quiz on Sunday 3rd February from 5-8pm in the GAA Club. If anyone would like to donate a prize please contact Darina/Sinead. Spot prizes also welcomed for the raffle.

 

Condolances

Midleton Gaa Club would like to express their deepest sympathies to Diarmuid Moloney and Family on the recent passing of Diarmuid’s sister Mary Moloney. May she Rest in Peace.
