Several of our Juvenile coaches have already done this and we thank them for being so proactive. Juvenile

Fe 11
A very busy week has just passed for our Fé 11’s. First up we were away to Sars for a
Hurling league game on Tuesday evening last. We travelled with 30 players, in what turned out to be a very competitive evening of hurling. Some of the hurling played at times was excellent and this particular group are definitely moving in the right direction. On Saturday last we then travelled to Bishopstown for the next round of the football league. Again big numbers travelled on a very competitive morning of Football. Again we had some very good play and we were competitive throughout. We came away in both games with a win, draw and a loss. Certainly when we move to a second night a week for next year, this group will continue to improve. On the 16th of June we are taking in the very competitive John Kerins Football Tournament 1/4 Final in Pairc Uí Rinn . Details to follow midweek. We also have a trip to Ballygunner ( Waterford ) for a hurling match on the 24th of June planned, details again later in the week.

Fe 12
Ovens are normally associated with heat and it was certainly hot on Saturday in the home or Eire Óg for our latest football league outing.  The lads gave the complete team performance with every player making a valuable contribution to what was truly an awesome performance. From the throw in our lads were determined to put their stamp on the game and in a very lively first half we scored eight points from play an one from a free to leave a half time score of 9 points to Eire Óg’s  two points.  Such was the heat on the day that the referee wisely allowed a water break midway way through each half. The second half began in a similar fashion to the first with our lads in control and kicking some marvellous scores from play,  the kick passing in particular  was of an excellent standard and  with the score 14 points to two   Midleton were  rocked by two well taken Eire Óg goals which cut our lead to 4 points,  we responded well to this set back with some neat point taking before Callum O’Brien found the back of the net to put the game out of reach, the  final score line read  1.21 to 2.04.  With such a remarkable team performance it would be unfair to pick out individuals, each and every player contributed massively to this fine display of football.
Panel:  Adam O Connor (0.01), Ben Fitzpatrick, Callum O’Brien (1.03), Carthaigh
Cronin(0.07) ,  Daniel Garde (0.03), Darragh Egan, Eoghan Fraser (0.04), Fionn Kelly,
Jack Foley (0.02), James Mc Sweeney, John Paul Mc Manus, Luca Brodkorb,  Mathew Gregory, Odhran Dennigan, Peter Barrett (0.01), Sean McSharry, Thomas Dunlea & Conor Morley.

Davy Hogan Street Leagues
Round 2 of our Davy Hogan street leagues takes place Monday night the 11th of June at 6.15. Position after Round 1; 4 Points St Enda, 4 Points Garryowen, 3 Points Saints, 1 Point Forkums, 0 Points Sons of rest.  Please come out and support these young Magpies at the GAA Club.

Juvenile Golf Classic
Our Juvenile Golf Classic is set to take place on Wednesday the 11th of July and Thursday the 12th of July.   The Golf Classic is vitally important in terms of raising funds to run our club.  Juvenile coaches will be contacting parents to see if you would be in a position to help support this event.  We would be very grateful for anyone who could assist us in terms of tee box sponsorship.

Family Quiz Night
On Sunday the June 24th at Midleton GAA Club we are running a family quiz night from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.  The cost of a ticket for a family of 4 is €20.00.  We are asking all families across all Midleton GAA Clubs to come out and support this event.  Juvenile team managers will be sending out a text to parents to ask for your support. If interested please text back to book and secure your ticket. We hope to see many families at the Club on the 24th for what we hope will be a great evenings fun.

Save the date July 7th - New York Visiting Team
The Juvenile Committee was contacted a number of weeks ago by a New York GAA Club, St Brendan’s in Orange County New York.  New York GAA were looking to arrange a visit to Ireland in July for a combined Fe14 New York Selection team and wanted to arrange a visit to Midleton GAA Club as part of their tour.  There are 25 players, 6 coaches and a number of supporting family members in the travelling party. Midleton GAA Club last hosted a visiting New York Team in 2011 and it is often spoken about and fondly remembered by all involved with that visit.  We look forward with great anticipation to creating new memories and providing a great day’s tournament of hurling for all our members to come and enjoy.  The tournament line up will see Midleton, New York, Abbeyside from Waterford and Knockavilla Kichams from Tipperary compete to win the Cup and Shield. What makes this tournament extra special for our club is that the Cup and Shield for this tournament will be engraved in Paddy Dunlea’s name.  Paddy was a lifelong passionate member of our club where he carried out numerous roles over the years.  This is a fitting tribute to him and his dedication to our club.  This tournament together with the Cup and Shield will become an annual Fe15’s tournament within our Juvenile Calendar in honour of Paddy Dunlea.  It is not every day, or indeed every year that we host a visiting New York Team.  It will be a very special day for our Club and we encourage all our members across all our clubs to save the date of July 7th and come to the club to view the tournament and enjoy what we know will be a wonderful social afternoon with many competitive hurling matches on show. The tournament will run from 1.30 to 6.30.
