Camogie
Fe 13 – We played a challenge match against Cobh on Tuesday evening last in Ballinacurra , a great effort was put in by the girls, this was a great start to preparation for the upcoming under 13 Imokilly League.

Fe 14 - Another first for Midleton Camogie again this week when we took part in the Cork Feile competition on Saturday last.  At very short notice  two teams in our group pulled out  an as a result  instead of playing  three x 30 minute games it would be one x fifty minute game to decide a place in the quarterfinal and what a game it was !
We met Brian Dillons on their home ground ( the Tank field), in what was a very competitive and compelling match,  we lost  on the narrowest of margins on a score line of 1.03 to 1.02 .  Both teams had periods of dominance but with defences standing firm scores were hard to engineer,   there was no shortage of skill or drama on display with some great passages of open play with plenty of hooking and blocking. Each and every girl put in an outstanding personal and team performance.  Well done to all involved, thanks to Brian Dillons for the hospitality. Next outing for our under 14’s is a league match against Ballinhassig on Wednesday evening next.

Juvenile

Fe 11
On Saturday last we hosted Blarney in the Football League, we had 24 players but unfortunately Blarney could only manage 16 so it was two teams of 8 a side in a sometimes feisty affair, none the less it was high scoring with plenty of goalmouth action. After and hours football the teams ended level and as of now we remain unbeaten in the League. Well done to all the players involved. Training continues on Wednesday 6pm at St Colman’s and next Saturday on the main pitch.

Fe 12
On Friday evening we travelled to Douglas where we displayed some great team work.
The halftime score was four points in favour of the home team. In the second half the magpies fought back with great honour. Unfortunately Douglas proved too strong in the end with their free taking abilities proving very costly for us. Our scorers were Evan Mc Grath  1.01 and Darragh Scanlon with a fine point. Well done lads keep up the training and commitment.

Fe 15
We travelled north side to Delanys to take on St. Finbarrs in the first round of the Premier 1 Hurling Championship last Saturday. We got off to a good start looked stronger and were quicker to the ball. Dominating the first half with some good scores and led at the break Midleton 1-11 v Barrs 0-4. The second half was a more even affair with both teams working hard. The Barrs looking to get back into the game but our the lads still had plenty in hand and closed out the game with a great win. Well done lads. Midleton 1-15 v St. Finbarrs 0-08.
Team: Brion Sanderson, Ciarmhac Smyth, Charlie Walsh, Patrick Kane, Gavin Reddy, Jack Fitzgerald, Conor Hayes, Leo Hennessy, Alex Quirke, Daniel Cagney, Darragh McCarthy, Conor Fitzgerald, Paul Connaughton, Ryan Cahill, Darragh Crowley, Luke Deane, Ben Cummins, Nickey Hayes, Christopher Leahy and Trevor Shine.

Fe 16
For the second year in a row we welcomed Sarsfields to Clonmult Memorial Park for a Premier 1 Hurling League game. Last year it was a tight game with Sars coming out on top by a point. As far as tight games was concerned this years fixture was to be another.
Sars scored first and looked strong all over the pitch. Our lads obviously didn't pay much heed to this as they hooked blocked and forced their way into the game. For the full 60 minutes both teams worked to their limit and showed the commitment required to take the win. However despite a late scoring attempt by us the game finished as a draw .
Team: Alex Quirke, Patrick Kane, Christian Murphy, Leo Hennessy, Charlie Walsh, Jack Fitzgerald, Dan O'Sullivan, Samuel Quirke, Ethan Daly, Gary Carroll, Aaron Mulcahy, Charlie Walsh, Tim O'Sullivan, Cian Crowley, Paul Connaghton, Ryan Cahill & Conor Hayes.
