Midleton GAA , Camogie & Ladies Football Club News

AGM
The Adult Hurling & Football AGM took place last Wednesday the 17th.  
Chairman Liam Ryan welcomed the large turnout of members and thanked everyone who assisted with the running of the Club over the past year. Outgoing Secretary Vincent Reddy presented a very detailed report of the past year, he was thanked by several members for the very professional and efficient way he carried out the role for the past four years. Later Liam Ryan made a presentation to Club President Very Rev. Monsignor Eamon Gould to mark the recent celebration of his Golden Jubilee.   
The officers elected were; Chairman Liam Ryan, Vice Chairman Kevin Hennessy, Secretary Michael Franklin, Treasurer John Fenton, Assistant Treasurer Pat O’Brien, PRO Coleman Quirke, Development Plan Coordinator Vincent Reddy, Coaching Officer Martin Mc Sweeney, Registrar Terence McCarthy, Assistant Registrar Brendan Ferriter, IT Officer Shane Goulding, Football Secretary Michael Tobin, Minor Rep John Ferriter, County Board Delegate Pat Horgan, East Cork Boards Reps Ken Murray & John Curtin, Children’s Officer Ingrid Connaughton, Irish & Cultural Officer Diarmaid Ó Dálaigh & Health & Safety Officer Sean Corcoran.
The Senior Hurling manager Jerry Wallace was ratified for a second year, the Intermediate and Junior managers will be selected in the new year when the Sub Committee will have met, the Fe 21 selectors will be made up of representatives from Senior, Intermediate and Minor, John Mulcahy was elected as the Minor manager and Cristeoir Ó Cáthasaigh was re-elected as Junior Football Manager.  
Many tributes were paid throughout the meeting to our late Vice Presidents William “Bawnie” O’Sullivan, Billy O’Keeffe and our good friend Maurice Moloney.

Post Primary Games 
Hard luck to Conor O’Neill, Kevin Finn, Christian Murphy, Cian Murray and Conor O’Farrell who were all part of the Coláiste an Phiarsiagh team defeated last week in the Corn Sheáin Uí hAnragáin Fe18 ½ D hurling final against St Munchins in Charleville by 0-16 to 0-13. Midleton CBS required a win over De La Salle last Wednesday in the Harty Cup at Carriganore (WIT grounds) but unfortunately the game was a draw 12 points apiece which resulted in the Waterford school going through .Seanaidh Smyth, Garan Manley, Padraig O’Brien, Sean O’Meara, Kevin Mulcahy and Adam Daly were all part of the panel.    

Camogie 
Registration for 2016 takes place on January the 9th in Midleton GAA Club from 10am to 12mid day. Registration is open to girls born in 2010 (will be 6 in 2016) and older.  All current players need to re- register.  New players are very welcome,   anyone interested in transferring in or out of the club please be aware of the transfer deadline of  Jan 31st , details on the website in the ladies section – camogie – forms.  forms
We would like to wish all our players, parents & supporters a very happy Christmas as we look forward to another fabulous year in 2016 for all involved in Midleton Camogie both on and off the field .   Magpies ABU         

Ladies Football 
Training for all age groups has now finished for 2015. Midleton Ladies Football Club would like to wish all our girls and their families a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

Happy Xmas and Healthy New Year
The Executive committee of the Club would like to wish all our members, players, officers and supporters a Happy Xmas and a Healthy New Year.  

Condolences
The Club Executive would like to offer their sincere condolences to Seamus Murphy and family following the passing of his brother Patrick in Kilkenny recently. 

Lotto
Our Lotto Jackpot was €2,200, there was no winner, the numbers were 3,4,10 & 17, the Lucky Dip winners were Mary Lane / Ellen Sheehan, Pat O’Brien Showfield, Ellen Mc Crea, Eileen Lehane & Rita Quinlan, next week’s Jackpot will be €2,400. 
There were four extra prizes of €30 Xmas meat vouchers and the winners were Francis O’Brien, Kevin Mc Sweeney, Ber Barton & Michael Franklin.   
  
The final Lotto draws for December will take place on Wednesday 23rd and Wednesday 30th. Tickets are on sale at the Club Bar, O ‘Neills Bar, Linehan’s Bar, Maple Leaf Bar, O’ Farrell’s Butchers, Frank Murphy Butchers, Pat Walsh Paints, Chadwicks, Teach Beag & Niall Mac’s Bars.

BINGO arrangements for December are Wednesday 23rd and Wednesday 30th, it takes place in the GAA Pavilion with a weekly guaranteed Jackpot of €1,000. 

Juvenile 

Annual Long Puck
The annual Sean Keohane Memorial Puc Fada will take place on St Stephens’s morning December 26th over the usual course. The Juvenile section will have a Fun puck whilst the Adults will compete in teams of 3. Buses will depart the Club at 9.30am sharp for Lisgoold. Please note that Vis vests are essential and to bring your own sliotar, everybody is welcome.
Prizes and Refreshments will be served in the Club immediately afterwards.

Club Shop
The shop is now closed and will re-open on January 9th.
