Midleton Hurling & Football Notes

 
All Ireland Senior Hurling Semi Final 
Commiserations to our lads with Cork on Sunday last, Conor Lehane who scored four great points and Killian Burke who was an unused substitute against Tipperary.

Senior Hurling Championship
Our Championship game v Douglas will now go ahead on Sunday 31st of August in Pairc Ui Rinn @ 4.15pm

Junior B Hurling
We are fixed to play Erins Own in the Championship replay this Wednesday @ 6.45pm in Riverstown.   

Camogie
A very successful two day camp was held last Thursday & Friday with great numbers turning out. Camogie Training continues every Friday 7.15pm  Midleton GAA grounds. New members always welcome (girls age 6 to 12). Registration forms and details available on the website or at any training session.  Helmet, hurley and shinguard required to train. Endurance Challenge 2068
As part of Endurance Challenge 2068 being undertaken by Sean Buckley & James Colbert aiming to raise €500,000 a Marathon is taking place in Midleton on Sunday next the 24th of August. An appeal is being made for stewards, each steward will be provided with a t-shirt and a safety vest.  The organising committee are hoping to have a bus on the day to collect the stewards at Midleton Park Hotel and drop/collect them to their locations. If anyone has half a day to spare for this very worthy cause Breakthrough Cancer Research please contact Louise Wilson of the East Cork Journal as soon as possible.

Lotto
Jackpot was €5,600 the numbers were 3,11,13 & 26, there was no winner, the Lucky dip winners were Eddie O Farrell, Edel Horgan, Caroline O Neill, Mary Leahy & Kevin Mc Sweeney, many thanks for your continued support.
Next weeks Jackpot will be €5,800. Tickets are on sale at the Club Bar, O ‘Neills Bar, Linehans Bar, Maple Leaf Bar, O’ Farrells Butchers, Frank Murphy Butchers, Pat Walsh Paints & Chadwicks. The Lotto draw takes place each Friday in the Club.  

BINGO for all every Friday night in the GAA Pavilion from 8pm, guaranteed Jackpot of 1,000 euro!!


Juvenile Notes

Fe 11
Our hurlers travelled to Dublin on Sunday to play Lucan Sarsfields in a challenge and then later attended the All Ireland Hurling semi-final in Croke Park.

Fe 15
Our hurlers had a fine victory last Friday evening in Midleton v Douglas by 2-08 v 0-11, their next game v Bishopstown is away on the 23rd @ 4pm.

Fe16
Our footballers had a good win over Ahane Gaels in the first round of the Rebel Og Premier 2 Championship last Wednesday in Ballinure by 3-09 v 2-09, they now await the winners of Inniscarra v Clonakilty/Castlehaven.

Juvenile Training
The training and coffee mornings are back on Saturday mornings at the Main Pitch at the normal times for each group. FE13,12 and 11’s from 09.45 to 11, FE9,8 and 7’s from 11 to 12 and FE10 and 6’s from 12 to 1.

Club Shop
The Club shop is open each Saturday from 11am to 12, a full selection of gear is available. Anyone looking for Birthday presents can also buy gift vouchers from the club shop. Full price lists are available on the club website www.midletongaa.com
