Cardiac Screening
As part of our Healthy Club Project (HCP) we ran a Cardiac Screening Day in Midleton GAA on Sat 29th March.
Healthcare Screening Ireland (www.hcsi.ie) ran the screening providing both a nurse and a doctor on the day which was open to everyone in the community.
We were delighted to be able to offer this at a very much reduced price of €49.95. We got very positive feedback from anyone who attended on the day. The following was provided on the day: Resting ECG (Electrocardiogram), Blood Pressure Measurement, Lung Function Test (Spirometry Test) & BMI (Body Mass Index)
All Cardiac Screening is reviewed by a Cardiologist.
Midleton's  HCP is very conscious of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome so we would again encourage all to register in the event of providing a Cardiac Screening day in the future. Midleton GAA's Healthy Club Project: Promoting Health & Well-being For Everyone In The Community

Juvenile Notes

Fe11
The first pair of Rebel Og Central Go Games was played last Saturday 29th of March on the Community College GAA pitch. Twenty three of our finest Gaelic Footballers turned up on the morning to face a gallant opposition from St Vincent’s. Conditions were near perfect for what was to be two excellent games of football. The standard of football on the day from the Midleton players was excellent. All the skills were on display high fielding, blocking, tackling and most important of all accurate passing.
It is obvious from what was ‘delivered’ that there is great potential in this group of young lads. Midleton went on to win both games and so collected all of the 4 valuable points that were available on the day. Next up is St Nicholas’s next Saturday 5th of April. All of the fixtures and league tables can be found on the Rebel Og web site:   http://www.central.rebelog.ie/league/80195/fe11_f_l_central_grp21

Fe14
Last Wednesday evening in Bishopstown, our Fe 14 Footballers defeated Bishopstown on a scoreline of 2-6 to 2-4. Playing with the elements in the first half, we led 1-4 to 1-2 at half time. This was a tightly contested game throughout, with Midleton just about "hanging on" to be in front at the final whistle.
Team: Jake Shanahan, Mark Daly, Christian Murphy, Ronan Lynch, Evan Rowlands, Sean O Sullivan, Griffin Hurley, Kian Farmer, Cian Murray, Gary Carroll, Tommy O Connell, Adam O Connell, Coleman Quinn, Ross Shanahan, Craig Barry, David Scanlon, Niall Higgins, Eabhan DeBarra & Ryan O Riordan. Next Wednesday April 2nd at 6.45pm we play U14 Premier 1 Hurling League at home to Ballincollig

Midleton CBS
We would like to commiserate with the Midleton CBS Fe16 1/2 hurlers who were very unlucky to lose out last Saturday to Kilkenny CBS in the All Ireland Post Primary final in Dungarvan. Played in atrocious conditions both teams served up the fine crowd with a very entertaining game, the Kilkenny school winning out in the end by 1.07 to 0.07. Hard luck and well done to our club players Seanaidh Smyth, Garan Manley, Eoin Maloney, Padraig O Brien, Kevin Mulcahy, Christopher Power, Sean O Leary Hayes, Sean O Meara & Ryan Mc Conville.
