Juvenile Notes

Our footballers had a good workout last week in CBS field against a very strong Douglas outfit.

Fe12
Our hurlers played Erins Own in a challenge game last week and this proved a to be a very good workout with all the lads getting plenty of game time.

Midleton U13 hurlers beat a highly fancied Na Piarsaig in the final of the annual Donie Cremin blitz on a scoreline of 2-2 to 1-3 earlier today at St Finbarrs home ground in Togher.
Drawn in the tougher group consisting of De La Salle, Na Piarsaig, Blackrock we beat De La Salle by 2-5 to 1-2 in the opening game. Next came Na Piarsaig where we came up short on a scoreline of 2-6 to 1-3. After this loss we beat Blackrock by 2-4 to 0-0. Thus we qualified for the Semi Final against Bishopstown. We won this game by 1-2 to 0-1. In the other semi, Na Piarsaig beat St Finbarrs and thus set up a final pairing of Na Piarsaig V Midleton. Na Piarsaig hurled really well and Midleton stuck to our guns with hard committed hurling where all the lads stood up and worked their socks off. The scoreline at half time was 1-2 to 1-1 in favour of Na Piarsaig. Some great play and teamwork in the second half saw Midleton take advantage of our chances and ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-2 to 1-3. This was a great result to a successful blitz for Midleton. St Finbarrs were great hosts and provided food and beverages for players, mentors and parents. Our players did themselves, their families and their Club proud with a smashing display of manly, honest and skilful hurling. The Squad representing Midleton was: Ross Shanahan, Mark Daly, Ciaran Evans, Alan Power, Fergus Wade, Sean O Sullivan, Cian Murray, Ross O Regan, Tommy O Connell, Jake Shanahan, Tundy Olutojubril, Evan Rowlands, Gary Carroll, Cormac O Brien, Sam Quirke, Coleman Quinn, David Scanlon, Ryan O Riordan, Christian Murphy, Adam O Connell, Ronan Lynch & Niall Higgins.

Our footballers played out an enthralling game with visitors Clonakilty last Sunday morning in the Rebel Og Football league.
