Midleton Hurling and Football, Ladies Football and Camogie Club Notes - January, 25

25 January, 2024

AWARD WINNERS

A big well done to the Midleton players who collected an award at last Friday night's Rebel Og Awards at the Silver Springs Hotel. The five lads were part of the East Cork team that won the Celtic Challenge in June. L to R: Eoin Fraser, Fionn Kelly, Daniel Garde, Luca Brodkorb and Darragh Egan.

IN THE RED OF CORK

Despite being named in a few teams, our members of the Cork senior hurling panel had no luck in terms of game time over the past week as the Cork v Limerick Munster Hurling League game was called off for the second and third time, on Wednesday and Sunday. With the National Hurling League fast approaching, the decision was taken to abandon the remainder of this year's Co-Op Superstores competition.

Next up for Cork will be their NHL opener on February 4 away to Clare in Ennis, followed the following weekend by their first home game, against Kilkenny under lights in Pairc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday, February 10.

Unfortunately there has been a rise in the amount of dogs being walked in Park South recently, especially during matches and training sessions. Please spread the word that only assistance dogs are permitted in both of our club grounds at Park South and Clonmult Memorial Park.

Please do not bring single-use plastic bottles to either Park South or Clonmult Memorial Park.
Please put your rubbish in a bin or bag and please bring your gear home with you.
And always be aware of the open water surrounding the pitches in Park South.
If you are a coach, please pass on these simple messages to players and parents.
All members are asked to respect referees and their officials at all times.
Also if you are a coach, last person out locks the gate, toilet and container.
