East Cork Ladies Junior A Football Semi Final Result
Midleton 3:17 Fermoy 3:4
After a poor performance in the opening round of the Cork County Championship the previous week, we travelled apprehensively to Fermoy on Thursday Night (18 July) to play the local girls in the East Cork Semi Final. What a difference a week makes. The girls were completely up for this game and played fantastic football, never allowing the Fermoy girls any time on the ball. As hard as Fermoy tried, they just could not break down the Midleton defence and our running game clicked for this game with the half back line leading the charge. A fantastic team performance from a group of players that includes 4 U16’s & 7 U18’s. The future is bright.
We await the winners of the other semi final between Watergrasshill and Erins Own.
Team: Tricia Curtin, Deirdre Kenny, Claudia Kearney, Rhea Buckley, Charley Moore, Lucy Wallace, Lucy Lawton, Abby Quirke, Claire O'Brien, Sadhbh Beausang, Ciara McGrath, Molly Beausang, Rayanna Power, Amy Quirke, Kim Fitzgerald, Lucy Kenneally, Michelle O'Brien, Clodagh Finn, Jodie Keegan O'Connell, Megan Kelly, Ellen Ryan, Caoimhe Cronin, Roisín O'Callaghan, Kate Obersby
Camogie
Well done to Vivienne Gleeson who lined out on Sunday 14th of July with Cork U16A team against Kilkenny in the All Ireland Championship in what proved to be a very tight match . Cork came out on top with Final Score 4-13 to 4.07. Congratulations to all involved .
Also on that Sunday Ruthi Hennessy played with Cork U14’s. Ruthi represented Cork in the Waterford Blitz at Mount Sion unfortunately losing out the Clare in the Final by 1 point 2.02 to 2.03 in a very hard fought and entertaining game.
