Midleton Fe 10 hurlers won all their 4 games in a blitz held at Moyle Rovers in Tipperary on Saturday 4th Sept. This was a 15 a side competition against Moyle Rovers & Moycarkey Borris of Tipperary, Ahane of Limerick and Naomh Eanna of Gorey. The boys started off poorly and took a while to warm up. They struggled to win their first two games beating Moyle Rovers 2-2 to 2-0 and Naomh Eanna 2-1 to 1-0. In the third game against Ahane the lads really opened up and played a stormer wining by 0-5 to 0-1. We knew that our most difficult opponents would be Moycarkey and so it proved. In a game that stretched the lads greatly they responded magnificantly to win by a point on a scorelinevof 1-2 to 0-4 points. This was a great day out organized by the club. The games also marked the last occasion that Joseph Boyle played for the club having recently moved back to Tipperary.
The players were Ross Shanahan, David Scanlon, Alan Power, Mark Daly, Fionn O Connell, Adam O Connell, Fergus Wade, Tom O Connell, Ronan Lynch, Kian Farmer, Ross O Regan, Cormac O Brien, Griffen Hurley, Niall Higgins, Coleman Quinn (Captain for the day), Ryan O Riordan, Cathal Morrissey, Eric Duggan, Colin Oedgebe, Joseph Boyle & Ciaran Evans.
Our hosts Moyle Rovers were magnificent and everyone had a great day out.
