Fe 12
Our P1 team were invited to take part in the Tommy Finn U12 Hurling Tournament, Clonea Power, Co Waterford.  The group stages were held over both days of the weekend with 16 teams participating in four groups and the top two of each group qualifying for the quarterfinals to be held next weekend.  We travelled to Clonea on Sunday, under the shadow of the stunning Commeragh mountains.  A change in the weather made for tricky underfoot conditions and  supporters swapping sunscreen for raincoats.

We faced a daunting task in our first match v Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin, we found it hard to get up to the pace of game and struggled with our opponents very strong play, we trailed at half time but the second half was like a different match with the lads taking the game to
Kilmacud,  the final score was Kilmacud 4.05 v Midleton 3.02. Next up was St Marys, Clonmel  this was a very evenly balanced match,  it was score for score and at half time the teams were level at 1.02 each. In the second half we edged  ahead to claim a win with a score line of 3.05 2.05. With one match left and one loss and one win it was all to play for as we met our final opponents Ballyduff Upper of Waterford.  This was a keenly contested match as both sides were playing for a place in the quarterfinal,   the quality and intensity level was of the highest order, once again it was all square at half time, a thrilling final 15 minutes saw us come out on top on a score line of Ballyduff 1.02 v Midleton 3.02. We along with Kilmacud qualify from the group to go through to the quarterfinals next weekend. Well done to all players who took part, thanks to the parents who travelled for their support throughout the day. Thanks to Clonea for a very well organised and smoothly ran tournament and for the hospitality throughout the day.
