Phase 2 of the Healthy Club Project was launched by Midleton GAA, Ladies Football & Camogie Clubs last Sunday 8th of May in conjunction with Lá na gClub celebrations.
The aim of the Healthy Club Project is to make our club a “healthier place for everyone to enjoy” – health body, health mind, health club!
Phase 1 of the project which our club participated in was hugely successful Midleton GAA Club won the HMI Leader Award in conjunction with St Finbarr's and HSE South with their project "Cork Beats Stress".  This project was so successful that Midleton GAA were again asked to partner with HSE South in 2016 to facilitate running the course which was held in February and ran over six weeks.
A lot of people must be thanked for making the launch such a success:
Phase 1 Healthy Club Project team – Pearse McCarthy, Gavin Power, Jerome Curtin, Marcella Scanlon & Kevin Mc Sweeney who initiated the journey on behalf of our club.
Club Chairpersons Liam Ryan, Cormac Quirke, Paddy Corcoran & Denis Kelleher who have been very supportive of the Healthy Club Project.

Juvenile

Fe 15
We travelled to Passage West on Thursday last for a hurling challenge. The plan was to rest our 3rd year students who had exams coming up however due to a lack of numbers they were needed in Goal and in defence. A gorgeous evening was the setting for three twenty minute periods of hurling and the lads got on a roll straight away. That said, Passage as usual put up a strong fight and made our lads work for their scores. The second period saw Passage come out with a stronger effort and tagged back some good scores to get close to us. The third period however belonged to Midleton with some fine individual and team scores leading to a comfortable win in the end.
Team: Christian Murphy, Garry Carroll, Dave Scanlon, Cian Crowley, Charlie Walsh, Aaron Mulcahy, Dan O'Sullivan, Adam Meade, Frank O'Brien, Ben Cummins, Ryan Cahill, Ethan Daly, Rory Donegan, Tim O'Sullivan & Samuel Quirke.

Cork Development Squads
We congratulate Leo Hennessy, Patrick Kane and Paul Connaughton who have made the Cork Fe 14 Development squad and Christian Murphy, David Scanlon, Gary Carroll, Aaron Mulcahy and Cian Crowley who have made the Cork Fe 15 squad. Congrats on your achievement and hopefully this will be a stepping stone to a Cork jersey at Minor, U21 or even Senior level in the years to come.
The aim of the development squads is to provide a pathway to excellence for all young GAA players in Cork.  The development squads incorporate county panels for GAA Players from U13 to U17 and aspire to nurturing and developing the characteristics and skills required in inter-county hurling through the provision of an appropriate programme of personal, technical, physical, psychological, tactical and team development for players and mentors.  We hope that you cherish the opportunity for the next few months and do your families, clubs and schools proud.
