Midleton GAA , Camogie & Ladies Football Club News

Senior Hurling 
Our Senior hurlers defeated Na Piarsaigh in their first League game last Wednesday away by 1-14 to 2-14. Their next game is Saturday 27th v Newtownshandrum away @ 7.30pm.
Team: Tommy Wallis, Cillian Hurley, Alywin Kearney, Seanaidh Smyth, Darren Quirke, Finbar O’Mahony, Seamus O’Farrell, Luke Dineen, Cormac Walsh, James Nagle, Aidan Ryan Padraig O’Keeffe, Peter Dowling, Cormac Beausang & Brian Hartnett. Subs used Elliot Mulcahy, Padraic Nagle, Declan Ryan, Sean O’Farrell and Leslie Coughlan.

Fitzgibbon Cup Hurling
Hard luck to Patrick White and Joe Loftus who were members of the CIT panel defeated by UL 3-11 to 2-19 last Wednesday.
 
Inter County Hurling
Hard luck to our club players Conor Lehane (0-03), Luke O’Farrell and Killian Burke (both unused substitutes) and selector Pat Hartnett who were part of the  Cork Senior hurlers who were defeated in their League game last Saturday evening in Pairc Ui Rinn before a fine crowd by Waterford 1-14 to 0-20.
Their next game is on Saturday the 5th March away to Dublin in Croke Park @ 5pm 

Junior Hurling
Training is currently taking place on Wednesday night’s @ 7 pm in the club. Anyone interested in attending are more than welcome, Patrick Dunlea can be contacted at 087-8135066 for further details.

Junior Football
Our footballers competed in the PhoneWatch Comórtas Peile Páidí Ó Sé last weekend. 
We were defeated by Round Towers of London in the first round 0-03 to 0-05 and we later defeated Rosenallis of Laois but only to lose out on score difference to progress in the competition. These games were played in very difficult conditions in Fenit, afterwards the lads travelled on to their hostel in Ventry and for light refreshments in Paidi Ó Sé famous bar.

Fe21 Football Championship
Our footballers will more than likely be playing Aghada in the “A” Championship on Saturday/Sunday March 5/6th.

Minor Football
Our footballers had a very tough outing in the Prmeier 2 Football League last Saturday when they were well defeated by Mitchelstown away by 0-04 to 1-19.

Stress Control Course
In conjunction with our Healthy Club group and Jennifer Hayes of the HSE South a Stress Control course will take place in the Midleton Park Hotel on Monday morning from 10 am - 11.30 am and also on the following dates 29th of February, 7th, 14th and 21st of March.

Lá na Club
The official launch date for phase 2 is Lá na gClubanna on 8th May – Croke Park will issue a Project Plan, Toolkit & Press Release for this launch.

Camogie
2016 training as follows;
Under 10 & Under 12:  23rd Feb    6pm -7pm, Midleton College  all weather pitch. 
Under 6, & Under 8:  March 4th   7pm -8pm, Midleton Community Centre.  
All current players must re-register ahead of training. New members always welcome.

Ladies Football 
Training for all age groups continues this week. U8's are in the Community Centre from 6-7pm. U10's to U16's are in the Hockey Pitch from 7-8pm. 
Our Junior girls are Core Training from 7.30-8.30 pm. 
We are holding a fun bingo night in the Gaa Club on March 20th from 7pm. All are welcome to attend. There will be some scrumptious prizes on offer. Bring a friend for a fun night. 

First Aid Training
Many thanks to Liam Cahill for overseeing both the First Aid training and Defibrillator courses recently. Both we were well attended and well worth doing.
  
Lotto
Our Lotto Jackpot was €4,000, there was no winner, the numbers were 4,7,9 & 12 , the lucky dip winners were , B O’Connor, P Ahern, S Carroll, K Mc Carthy & Willie Lawton, next week’s Jackpot will be €4,200. Tickets are on sale at the Club Bar, O ‘Neills Bar, Linehan’s Bar, Maple Leaf Bar, O’ Farrell’s Butchers, Frank Murphy Butchers, Pat Walsh Paints, Chadwicks, Teach Beag & Niall Mac’s Bars.

BINGO takes place each Friday evening at 8pm in the GAA Pavilion with a weekly guaranteed Jackpot of €1,000 on 52 calls, €920 Green Sheet 48 calls and €410 Blue Sheet Lucky number.
 
Club Shop
The shop will be open each Saturday morning from 10 to 12. 

Juvenile Indoor Training 
Our Indoor training continues each Saturday in the Community Centre over the coming months.

Rebel Og Workshops
Injury Prevention Workshop. Suitable for players from approx 12 years old up at Mallow GAA Complex 7.00pm Friday 26th February, Coach: Liam Reilly
GAA Nursery Workshop at Mallow GAA Complex 4pm Sat 27th February with Dr. Wesley O’ Brien
Injury Prevention Workshop at Clonakilty GAA Complex 7.00pm Monday 29th February, Coach: Liam Reilly
Online Concussion Workshop, Rebel Og Coaching have a workshop available to club players, coaches, mentors and anyone who may be interested in the area of Concussion.
The Workshop will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and will be available until the 27th of December.
