Midleton Hurling & Football Notes

Championship Draws
The East Cork Hurling & Football Championship draws were made recently and the following are our opponents;

Junior A Hurling v Carrigtwohill
Junior B Hurling v Sarsfields
Junior C Hurling v Russell Rovers
Fe 21 A Hurling v Killeagh /Ita’s
Junior A Football v Cloyne
Junior B Football v loser of Aghada/Lisgoold
Fe 21 A Football v Glanmire 

Club Development
On the back of the very positive Open meeting we had recently, Five Focus Groups will meet this coming Wednesday from 8 to 9.30pm to evaluate the information collected and to discuss the use of this for further use in the Club Plan.                    

Membership Rates 2015 
L
ast Friday a very successful Membership Registration evening organised by Club Membership Officer Terence Mc Carthy and Registrar Brendan Ferriter took place in the Gaa Club. Thanks all those who who have already paid up their membership.

Fitzgibbon Hurling
Hard luck to UCC players Killian Burke, Conor Lehane, Tommy Wallace, Brian Hartnett and Cormac Walsh who were surprisingly defeated by NUIG last Thursday the Dangan by 0-21 v 0-19. Well done to the CIT lads Patrick White and Joe Loftus on their victory over St Patricks Dromcondra away by 1-19 1-14 thus qualifying them for the knockout stages. UCC have a must win game this coming Tuesday v UL at the Mardyke if they have any hope of reaching the finals in Limerick.

Allianz National Hurling League
The opening Round Allianz Hurling League 2015 competitions see Cork take on All Ireland champions Kilkenny next Saturday 14th February 2015. Throw in 7:00 p.m.
This game is the first in a trilogy of Allianz Hurling League games at home in Páirc Uí Rinn with Clare and Tipperary playing in later Rounds.
Advance ticket purchase is the way to go with supporters enjoying €5.00 savings on match day prices. Tickets available from gaa.ie and selected Centra and Supervalue stores at €10.00. U16’s GoFree, and normal student / OAP concessions apply (no discount on concession price). Cashless turnstiles will operate for the Allianz League home games at Páirc Uí Rinn. On match days patrons can purchase and pay for tickets at the booths and then proceed to the turnstile gaining admission on ticket presentation. Adult tickets €15.00. Best of luck to our lads on the panel.

Lotto
Lotto Jackpot was €10,400, numbers were 3,9,15 & 20, there was no winner, Lucky Dips were Nicola & Conor Lehane, John Ryan, Eileen Lehane, Mary Egan & Netta Dineen, next week’s Jackpot is €10,600. The Lotto draw takes place each Friday in the Club. Tickets are on sale at the Club Bar, O ‘Neills Bar, Linehans Bar, Maple Leaf Bar, O’ Farrells Butchers, Frank Murphy Butchers, Pat Walsh Paints & Chadwicks.

JUVENILE  NOTES

Street League Indoor Hurling
Each Saturday training takes place at the Community Centre, coaching for boys continues and new members are always very welcome. The times are as follows: Junior Infants 12 – 1pm, Senior Infants 11-12 & First Class 10-11am.

Fe11
Hurling Training continues each Wednesday from 6-7pm in the Hockey Pitch and on Saturdays from 10-11am at St Colmans Community College.   

Fe12
Training each Wednesday night from 7-8pm in the back field and the Ball alley. Bring hurling and football gear (essential items are drink, gum shield and helmet), put the lot in your kit bag. Saturday training sessions each week in St Colman’s College from 11-12, please bring the same kit you use on Wednesdays. Leagues will begin by the end of February.  

Fe13
Our footballers were defeated last Friday evening at Fouhy Park in the Prmeier 2 League by Glenville on a score of 4-08 v 2-06.

Fe14
Our footballers had a very good victory in their first outing in the Premier 2 League last Satuday at the Community College grounds over Na Piarsaigh by 11-08 v 3-03.

Fe16
Our footballers were defeated in Ballyanly last Saturday in the Premier 2 League last Saturday by Inniscarra on a scoreline of 2-06 v 4-08. 

Club Gear
The Club shop is open each Saturday morning from 11am to 12, a full selection of gear is available Price lists are available on the club website www.midletongaa.com
