Juvenile Notes

Fe 8
Midleton's Fe 8's participated in a monster hurling blitz in Carrigtwohill on Saturday last, fielding 5 teams of 7 aside. Each team played 3 matches against various opposition including Sars, Cobh, Carrigtwohill, Kiltha Og, Erins Own and St Coleman's. In an action packed morning all the boys played with great enthusiasm  and sportsmanship while demonstrating excellent skill and teamwork. Thanks to the  parents and coaches and especially the boys for being part of a great mornings entertainment. We would also like to express our appreciation to the host club Carrigtwohill and the organiser Sean Crowley G.D.A. for a very well organised and enjoyable event and we look forward to further blitz in the months ahead. Magpies Abu.

Fe11
Twenty-One of our footballers turned out on Thursday night for the second round of games in the U11 Premier League. Similar to the previous outing the format was two concurrent games of 10-a-side. The games began on the stroke of 7 and from the start both were extremely competitive. The football displayed by all players on the night was top class. But it was the excitement as both games were so close as they edged towards the final whistles is what really made this great entertainment. After titanic struggles in both games Midleton just about held on to claim the 4-points from both games. Thanks to all parents on the night for having the boys at the field on time. A special thanks to those parents who prepared the field both before and after the games.
Remember you can keep up to date with fixtures and league tables by going to the Cork Rebel Og web site.

We had beautiful spring sunshine in Clonmult Memorial Park, Midleton for the first round of hurling matches versus Blackrock in the Fe 11 Hurling league. As both panels had the exact same number of players we were able to play two games at the same time with no substitutes. From the start scores in the games were plentiful especially from the young Magpies. What was most enjoyable is that the scores invariably came at the end of some outstanding passages of hurling. By half time Midleton who had played with the aid of the breeze had built up a sizable lead in both games. When the teams turned around for the second halves the games were much more even. But Midleton were to hold out in the two games to record comprehensive wins. Next up is a hurling match next Saturday 19/4/14 versus Glen Rovers at Blackpool. More details on a web text close to the date

Fe12
Our hurlers had a fine victory over Cobh last weekend in Cobh by 4-05 v 7-13

Congratulations to all the players, selectors, parents and supporters for a marvellous weekend of hurling, we play Douglas in the final next week.
