Juvenile Notes

Fe13
Midleton Fe 13 Hurlers defeated Blackrock in the quarter final of the Premier 1 Championship at a sun drenched Kilbarry earlier today on a scoreline of 3-8 to 3-3. Blackrock opened brightly with the opening score of the game with a fine goal. Midleton had most of the possession over the next 20 minutes and scored 2 great goals and 4 points from play and frees. About 5 minutes before the break Midleton conceded a free about 70 meters from goal. The resultant strike saw the sliotar go directly to the Midleton net after bouncing around the square. The score at the short whistle was Midleton 2-4 Blackrock 2-3. Midleton made some positional changes for the second half and these worked well. A few early long range frees and a point from play settled Midleton. Soon after we scored a great goal, only to be followed by probably the best score of the game.....a tremendous goal by Blackrock. Our lads dug deep and defended with great strength and courage while tagging on another fine point from play, which was the last score of the game. We now move to play the winners of Douglas V Ballincollig in the Semi Final, which will probably be played next Saturday at the same venue. Our team was represented by: Ryan O Riordan, Ronan Lynch, Evan Rowlands, Griffin Hurley, Alan Power, Adam O Connell, David Scanlon, Eabhan DeBarra, Niall Higgins, Coleman Quinn, Cormac Hill, Sam Quirke, Cormac O Brien, Garry Carroll, Kian Farmer, Tommy O Connell (c), Jake Shanahan, Tunde Olotu-Jubril, Ross O Regan, Cian Murray, Sean O Sullivan, Fergus Wade, Mark Daly, Ciaran Evans, Christian Murphy, Ross Shanahan.
Well done to all the lads, but we'll have to up our game considerably for the Semi Final against Douglas.
