Juvenile Notes

Fe 13
2011 Fe 13 Hurling League Final.
our 2011 Fe 13 panel travelled to the home of Fr O'Neills in Aghavine on Sat last Jan 28th to take on our perennial rivals Sarfields in the delayed final of the hurling league. On a day and time of year not really suited to the playing of hurling credit must go to both sets of players who put up a great display of hurling and there was some great individual displays on both sides. In a first half where both sets of backs where well on top scores were very hard to come by and the score at the break was Sars 0-3 Midleton 1-0. The game continued in the same vain for the second half and at the end of the hour we had to sample defeat once more on a score line of Sars 1-7 Midleton 2-1. This was good improvement from our boys against a Sars team who had beaten us by a much larger scoreline in the 2011 Championship Final. Since Fe-10 these 2 teams have met in the final of every Championship and League competition in which they were entered and no doubt will cross paths again over the coming years to decide the destination of many more competitions.

Training
Training is back in full swing for Juvenile teams. We would ask parents to encourage their children to practice during the week even if the weather is bad, mums and dads can practice catching the ball indoors. Please remember to bring your €2 to training sessions. This money is vital to keep the juvenile section of the club funded.

Club Gear
Midleton GAA juvenile club will have a shop with club playing and leisure wear open on the first Saturday of each month. This will commence with the indoor training sessions in the Community Centre and then in the Club Pavilion once outdoor training re-commences.
Scholarships to Irish College
If you are intending sending your children to Irish Cllege in Ballyvourney this summer please take note of the following. If you are an active member of a GAA club in East Cork you can avail of a €180 discount  if you meet the qualifying conditions. For further in formation please contact underage Club Secretary Michael Franklin. Forms and full details are available on www.colaistenamumhan.com
