Midleton GAA notes 30th May 2011

30 May, 2011

Avondhu / Imokilly Junior  Hurling League
Midleton 0-09 Charleville 1-21
Out Junior A hurlers suffered a heavy defeat at home to Charleville on Friday evening last in the League. Our visitors played the better hurling on the night and we never threatened to take the points at any stage. In fairness to the selectors and players there were a lot of players unavailable due to illness, exams and work commitments which did not help the cause. However the lads will have to stick with it as the championship is coming up towards the end of June when we face Lisgoold.

Junior B Hurling League
Midleton 2-08 Carrignavar 2-14
Our Junior B Hurlers travelled to Carrignavar in the League on Wednesday last. Unfortunately they came up short on the night and went down by six points in the end.

Non Exam Minor Hurling League
Midleton 1-23 Valley Rovers 1-03
Our minor hurlers continued their good form in the non exam league when the enjoyed an easy win over Valley Rovers. They are due to face Blackrock this  Wednesday night, June 1st, in the next game.
Best Wishes.
Best wishes and good luck to all our players in their Junior and Leaving Cert exams beginning soon.

Well Done
Well done to both Luke O Farrell and James Nagle on making their senior championship debuts with Cork last weekend in Thurles, no doubt we’ll hear a lot more about these guys throughout the year.
