Seniors Draw with Carrigtwohill
Midleton 3-10 Carrigtowhill 0-19

Our Senior hurlers played out an exciting draw with near neighbours carrigtwohill on Wednesday last. The game was played in Crrigtwohill under lights. In the first half the home side made the stronger and more impressive start. Midleton struggled to keep pace and trailed by 0-13 to 2-05 at the break. The two goals came from Luke O’Farrell. In the second half we played much better and in the end a draw was probably a fair outcome. Luke O’Farrell completed his hatrick in the second half and was a ythrest throughout the game. Overall Midleton will be happier to have secured a draw.

The focus switches to Football for the next couple of weeks with the Championship opener against Fr. O’Neills this weekend.

Junior A Hurling

We played Shanballymore in our first league game of the year in Clonmult Memorial Park on the 20th March. We got the season off to a good start by winning. We lead at half-time on a scoreline of 2:07 to 0:07.It wasn't a spectacular game by any means but its the start we wanted. We had good performances throughout the field with everyone working hard to grind out a win.Our next game is against Churchtown which is an away game.

Fe 13 Hurling V St Finbarrs
Our Fe 13 hurlers got their competitive year up and running on Saturday March 26th last with a trip to Neenan Park Togher to take on the home team St. Finbarrs in the Premier 1 hurling league. In a tight and tense game where it was obvious from the mistakes and standard of hurling on display that it was the first game of hurling for both sides we came away with a 4 point win on a score line of 7-4 to 4-9. Our Panel on the day was Padraig O'Brien (capt), Ryan O'Reagan, Ronan O'Donovan, Conor O'Neill, Kevin Mulcahy, Adam Daly, Kevin Daly, Christian Daly, Jordan Roche, Christopher Shanahan, Temitayo Abdullah, David Mulcahy, PJ Fitzgearld, Liam Franklin, Conor Evans, Eoin Moloney, Garan Manley, Sean O'Leary, Christopher Power, John O'Dwyer.
From Sat April 2nd next we begin training in the CBS field on Saturday mornings 10am to 11.30am.

Fe 10 Football V Glanmire
Our first football match this year took place in Sallybrook on Tuesday evening last. We met Glanmire last year and found them a tough challenge but were up to the mark.
On Tuesday, 24 of our lads turned out and were split into two equal teams. For their first outing of the year our lads proved game and put in a very good effort.
As for the matches; Midleton were on a par with Glanmire for the most part. In the end one team won their match and the other were just shaded by Glanmire in the last few minutes.
Well done to all who played and our thanks to Glanmire for hosting us.

Fe 9 Hurling blitz in Midleton
On Saturday the 26th we welcomed Iniscarra, Na Piarsaigh and St Finbarr’s to the last of our four blitzes. The day started well with the weather playing a huge part. The blitz started at 1400 and ran until 1600.All four blitzes were played in a very sporting manner with great performances from each side. Each club had two teams of 10 which provided 3 games for each team. Every player got plenty of game time and when it finished all teams joined together for a group photograph. Many thanks to all the parents who helped out on the day and provided food for the players and parents, this was much appreciated by the other teams and the fe9 mentors. Thanks to Iniscarra, Na Piarsaigh and St Finbarr’s for the very enjoyable games in each blitz.

Fe 9 Hurling V Youghal
On Saturday the 26th our fe9's travelled to Youghal on a beautiful day for hurling. We travelled with 13 players due to a few of our lads being sick on the morning. Youghal had 24 players so we played six games with the Youghal teams rotating on and off. Both teams played some great hurling with Youghal starting strongly in the first few games. Our lads however got going after a while and finished strongly. We will return to Youghal in a few weeks when we have a fit and healthy panel again so both teams will get the same amount of game time. Thanks to Youghal for the game and the parents who travelled for the support.

Indoor hurling finishes
Our Fe 7’s, Senior infants and Junior infants were due to finish their indoor hurling training on Saturday 26th. However the weather was so good they decided to open the doors and let the lads run out on the adjoining field.
Training drills were abandoned for the day and the kids got stuck into matches with gusto.
With training finished for the day it was time for the presentation of medals and some crisps etc.
Many thanks to Luke O’Farrell and Conor Lehane who took time to come and present the medals to the lads. It’s great for the kids to have two such good role models to look up to.
The kids get a one week break with training resuming on Saturday 9th of April. Check times on Club website team pages.
