IN THE RED OF CORK
Hard luck to Mikey Finn (pictured below...Photo: Denis O'Flynn), David Cremin, Terence McCarthy, Ben O'Connor and all the Cork U-20 players and management on their controversial Munster Final defeat to Tipperary on Friday night in Limerick.
Hard luck too to Peter Barrett and the Cork minors whose season ended with an All-Ireland Quarter-final defeat to Wexford in Thurles on Saturday.
After the weekend games, the Cork senior hurlers secured third position in the Munster Championship and so go forward to the All-Ireland series. Next up they will play Laois or Offaly. Best of luck to Conor, Tommy, Brion and all the players and management team for the rest of the campaign.
MAGPIES ABROAD

CAMOGIE
UNDER 12S
Our U12s (black team) travelled to Caherlag to play their third match in phase 2 against Erin’s Own. Coming out strong from the first whistle the girls worked as a team throughout the match, with some great skills and confidence playing in different positions. Well done to a great bunch of girls.
UNDER 13S
Our U-13 (Black team) played their fourth game of the Imokilly Gold League away to Castlemartyr on Sunday morning. We were missing some regular starters from the group and we could not be prouder of the way the girls performed. From the off it was clear that Castlemartyr were up for a battle knowing Midleton’s unbeaten run was on the line. Some great scoring in the first half had Midleton in charge at the break. Castlemartyr came out all guns blazing at the start of the second half with some great scores. Midleton responded and with some fantastic skills and great determination put the game out of Castlemartyr’s reach with ten minutes to play. Our unbeaten run continues. Next up is an away game versus Erin’s Own on Friday 7th of June.
UNDER 15s
Our U-15s hosted Killeagh in the Imokilly League in Park South. The girls battled hard against a strong team but came up short in the end. Well done to our captain Amy who was outstanding on the night and we wish Jaimey a speedy recovery.
Our U15’s had a tough game in horrendous conditions last Saturday against a strong Fr. O’Neill’s team in Clonmult Memorial Park. Unfortunately it wasn’t our day however well done to each girl for giving it their all in such conditions.
JUNIOR TEAMS
LILY GRANT LEAGUE
CASTLELYONS 1-4 MIDLETON 1-14
We secured our place in the Semi Final of the Lilly Grant league with a 10-point win in Castlelyons on. We were always in control in this game and once Saoirse Ni Theangana's long delivery ended up in the net before half-time and we ran out easy enough winners.
Saoirse was the outstanding player on the night contributing 1-10 of the total scoring. Sorcha Cronin also scored two points with Lilly Kelly and Rachel Ryan off the bench adding our final scores. Overall another great team performance and we look forward now to a semi-final at home V Watergrasshill on Friday night (May 31).

PREMIER JUNIOR
CASTLELYONS 1-7 MIDLETON 4-17
We returned to Castlelyons on Monday last and this time secured our place in the Premier Junior League Final with a comprehensive display against a depleted Castlelyons outfit.
We started really well and with Molly Beausang and Kate Saunderson dominating in the backs and Lucy Wallace outstanding in midfield our forwards saw a plentiful supply of the ball and they made full use of it by taking some fine scores.
Sadhbh Beausang and Kate O'Sullivan each hit three fine points from play and goals from Abbie Foley and the aforementioned Lucy Wallace saw us well in control at half-time.
Further second-half goals by Viv Gleeson and Jodie Keegan O'Connell put a gloss on the scoreboard. Again an outstanding team performance and we can look forward to a League Final on Wednesday, June 5 in our first year competing at this grade.

JUNIOR A LEAGUE
Our Junior ladies had a long spin on Sunday last where they played Bantry in another league fixture. From the off the girls battled hard and played some great football and defended extremely well.
