Christmas Trees for Sale

As part of our ongoing drive for raising funds for our New Development Midleton Gaa Club will be selling Christmas Trees this year. We are asking all our Club Members, supporters and their Families to support us. On December 7th and 8th from 10am to 5pm Trees will be for Sale on our Club Grounds. For an extra charge you may also have your tree delivered to your home. All support for this initiative would be very much appreciated. If you can give 1 hour to help on either day please text Tracy on 087-6625544.

Social Cards Evening

Our social evening of a 45 card drive continues next Friday evening at 8.30pm. We had a big crowd last Friday where we managed to run off four finals. Pride of place this week went to Maura Desmond Elsinore who won two finals partnered by our Club Chairman Liam Ryan for the first of those victories.

Adult Hurling and Football AGM

On Wednesday last the Adult Hurling and Football Club held its annual AGM. Many thanks to all Club Members who attended on the night. Officer’s reports and various topics were discussed on the evening. Chairman Liam Ryan also thanked Outing Children’s Officer Ingrid Connaughton for all her hard work over the last few years.  The following Officers were elected for the coming year 2020:

Juvenile AGM

The last of our Clubs AGM’s take place Dec 4th at 8pm. All welcome.

Lotto

Our Club Lotto was €4,800 and there was No Winner. Lucky Dip winners were Liam Ryan, Gerald Fitzgerald, Brendan Falvey, Olivia Shannon, Declan Crowley.

Next Week’s Jackpot is €5,000.

Bingo

As anticipated we had a €1,000 winner last Friday. Congratulations Antoinette. This Friday at 8pm the Jackpot is €1,000 and sheet values are- Green €340, Blue (on 6 numbers) €500, Pink (on any teen number) is €500. T & C apply. Tickets also on sale for Juvenile Club annual raffle with prizes galore. Game of 45 cards to immediately follow bingo. 

Juvenile

On Saturday our Fé6-9 boys had their end of year social in the Club from 3-5pm. A huge turnout of players and Parents danced the afternoon away with the help of DJ Stephen. Thank you to everyone who helped on the afternoon to ensure the smooth running of the event.

On Sunday we had a day in Market Green selling our Juvenile Christmas draw tickets. From 10am to 4pm we had Parents and Club Officers man our ticket table. Thank you to all those who volunteered an hour to help with this important fundraiser which helps to run the Juvenile Club. We will return to Market Green next Saturday Dec 7th from 10am to 4pm for one more day before the Christmas draw takes place on Saturday night. All team managers have sent a text to Parents with your allocated time slot. If you can offer 1 hour of your time it would be very much appreciated.

Juvenile Tickets can be returned to the Club Shop next Saturday.

Our end of year social for our Fé10-16 takes place on Saturday Dec7th in the Club. We ask that all players to arrive at 6.45pm as we would like to commence proceedings at 7pm. Medals and Players awards will take place in the hall and we will then go to the Lounge at 9pm were the Christmas draw will take place. Once the draw is over there will be Live Music to entertain us for the rest of the evening.

Ladies Football

On Friday evening we held our end of year Social. There was standing room only as Players and Parents packed the Club Lounge. Our Chairman Paddy Corcoran reflected on what was a fantastic year for our Club from U8 up to Junior. Our U8 and U10 girls received their Certificates and Selection boxes. Championship medals were presented to our victorious U12 and U14 girls. We also presented our Most Improved Player of the Year awards to Jade Fitzgerald –U14 and Caoimhe Cronin-U16. Well done girls. Refreshments were then served. Thank you to everyone who supported our evening. We are now on a well deserved break and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2020 refreshed and ready to go again. We wish you all a Happy and Peaceful Christmas.

Camogie

On Sunday the 15th December Midleton Camogie club would like to invite all our players and their families to our annual Christmas social from 5.30 to 8 pm. Last year we had two separate nights, one for the social and one for the medals presentation however this year based on feedback from members we are going to have one celebration. On this night our younger members will have a chance to celebrate with our older girls who have achieved great things on the pitch this year and are fantastic role models to the younger girls. There will be fun , games and celebrations along with some light refreshments. This event will close off 2019 for Midleton camogie club after which we will take a well earned break before coming back refreshed and energised in the New Year. The more the merrier so please save the date!

Healthy Club

Gambling Awareness Workshop with Justin Campbell in St Finbarr's GAA Club on Saturday 7th December is OFF..........rescheduled for Sat 8th Feb 2020.

Oíche Chultúir Aoine 6ú Nollag  2019

Great Trad session on  Friday 6th  ( Next Friday)  in Midleton GAA  clubhouse at 9.30p.m. A special fáilte for those with ceoil or cúpla focal. Seasonal refreshments. Musicians welcome- 0862340932. Bíonn Oíche Ghaelach i gClub CLG Mhainistir na Corann go rialta . Fáilte roimh chách.

Christmas Food Appeal

Midleton Gaa, Juvenile, Ladies Football and Camogie Clubs are once again running our Christmas Food appeal for St Vincent de Paul. All donations of non-perishable items would be greatly received and can be left at the Club Shop on Saturday mornings or can be donated at the Juvenile Socials ( Dec 7th), and the Camogie social (Dec15th). Many thanks to all those who donated at the Ladies Football Social and the Fé6-9 Boys social.

Club Shop hours for the rest of the year are as follows:

07th Dec:  10 to 11-30am
14th Dec : 10 to 11-30am
18th Dec:  18-30 to 20-30pm
 

Please note shop will not be open 21/12/19

St Stephen’s Day Long Puc

Our annual Seán Keohane Long Puc takes place on St Stephen’s Day. Buses will depart the Club at 9.30am. This year it was decided that all Adults will be asked to pay €10 and all money received will go towards the Irish Heart Foundation.
