Midleton Hurling & Football, Ladies Football & Camogie Club NEWS

Fe21
Our second Fe21 Hurling team played Dungourney in the first round of the East Cork B Championship last Friday night in Castlemartyr and in heavy conditions we won by 2-18 to 0-11 having led at the break by 0-11 to 0-09. Well done to the players and management.

Minor
On Wednesday last our footballers had a comprehensive win away over a weak Carrigaline side last week in the Premier 2 League winning on a scoreline of 11-13 to 0-09.

Our next game is on Tuesday next the 31st v Valley Rovers in the Premier 1 Football Championship in Ovens @ 7.30pm.

Inter County Championship
Best of luck to the Cork Fe21 hurlers who  play Wexford in their All Ireland semi final on Saturday next the 4th of August in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny @ 4pm, with Seanaidh Smyth and Sean O’Leary Hayes currently members of the panel.

Camogie (Camógaíochta)
U9:  We  travelled to Ballymacoda on Tuesday evening to play Fr O’Neill’s. Both teams put on a great display in what was a very competitive game. The girls are improving every week and the practice that they are putting in, both on and off the training field is really starting to show. The girls fought for every ball and got some great scores. Thanks to the girls and parents for travelling and to Fr O’Neill’s for hosting us.
U11: A big well done to our girls who played with great skill and determination against an excellent St Catherine’s team on Saturday afternoon in Balllinacurra.
We look forward to our next match this Monday night against Cobh.
Best of luck to our U14 who play the Quarter Final League V Bride Rovers on Monday evening 8pm this is a home fixture all support appreciated. Any changes to usual training schedule will be communicated to parents.

Ladies Football (Peil na mBan)
There was a great win for our Under 10's vs Rockbán on Monday last with a solid score of 7-8 to 0-0. It was a great collective effort by each and every player culminating in scores by Faye Dunlea, Emma Keeshan, Ciara Murphy, Cáit O' Leary-Hayes, Caoilinn Fraser and Rebecca Cronin.  Well done to a fantastic panel of players Midleton LGFA is very proud of every one of you!!
Our Junior girls are playing their second championship game on Monday night next the 30th  in Ballinacurra GAA Club throw in is at 8pm.  Please come out and support the girls as they take on Abhainn Dalla.
NO U8 training until August 13th …...all other teams training as usual Monday in Tech Field please as always be mindful of the local residents when you are dropping your daughter to training. Bank Holiday Monday 6th of August NO training for any team.

Condolences
The Club Executive would like to express their deepest sympathy’s to the family of the late Conor Barrett, Elsinore and Mallow who passed away recently.

Cork Clubs Draw
Congrats to Joseph Hickey winner of 6th Prize of a Luxury Break in the Cork Clubs Draw for July, all the results can be viewed on the Cork Gaa website.

Gaa Golf Society
The next outing will take place at Cork Golf on Thursday 23rd of August, tee time from 4-5pm, this event is limited to just 24 people and costs €50 including food, payment must be made in advance to any committee member.   

Lotto (An Lató)
Our Lotto Jackpot was €2,800 and there was no winner, the Lucky dip winners were Michael Franklin, Noah Hegarty, James O’ Regan, Valerie Connors Fogarty & Rose O’Sullivan, next week’s Jackpot will be €3,000.

Juvenile

Fe 12
On Tuesday last we visited Rostellan to play a challenge match, it was a very entertaining game of hurling, these games keep us ticking over during the summer we managed to run up a good score  line with Daniel Garde scoring 1.06, James Mc Sweeney 1.04, Conor Morley 1.02, Luca 0.1 and Eoghan Fraser 0.02  with excellent performances from Gearoid Cashman, Conor Williams, Cathraigh Cronin. Thanks again to Aghada whom we’ll meet again later in the summer in two tournaments.
Training continues on Mondays and Thursdays 6-7pm on the main pitch, players are asked to bring gum shields as well as hurleys and helmets to each training session.

Club Shop
Please note that the Club Shop will NOT be open next Saturday due to the Bank Holiday, it will re open on Saturday the 11th.
