Reopening of Pairc Ui Chaoimh
Last Wednesday the 19th saw the re opening of Pairc Ui Chaoimh take place with an Intermediate Hurling Championship game between Valley Rovers and Blarney before a record crowd of over 11,000 which Valleys won easy. Last weekend saw the All Ireland quarter finals both take place there with Tipperary defeating Clare on Saturday and Waterford defeating Wexford on Sunday.

Camogie
U14C County League Final July 22nd  Midleton 3-09 v  Butterant 1-05.
At 11.30  on Saturday morning last 25 players, their mentors and families gathered in Midleton and left in convoy for Ballinlough for a 2pm throw in our Clubs first ever County Final. We got off to a great start with three early points followed by a goal, Buttevant came back strong with two well taken points from play. We responded with another point and a goal before  Buttevant scored again,  half time finished on a  score of 2-05 to 0-05.  In the second half the ante was upped driven on by player of the match Jodie Keegan O Connell   ably assisted  by excellent mid fielders Vivienne Gleeson and Caoimhe Murray and the very hard working Leah Hogan at centre forward we began to exert a strong grip on the game. With a resolute defence led by Orla Evans, and  a flawless performance from goalie Jill Connaughton meant Buttevant put only one score on the board  in the second half.  The tireless efforts of  the forwards with the ever threatening Chloe Garde posing a serious danger on the inside line resulted in  another goal and four points to the tally to finish on a score line of 3-09  to 1-05.  Joint Captains Hannah Wall and Orla Evans lifted the cup in front of a large contingent of very proud family, friends and supporters on this historic occasion ... Midleton Camogie’s first County Final. The celebrations continued with a motorcade through Midleton and concluded with well earned refreshments in the club.

Fe 15
In our third League outing we were at home to St Finbarrs last Monday evening. The game was closely contested until we struck with a goal ten minutes before the end of the first half. Brion made a super save from a Barrs penalty shortly thereafter. We remained in control for the remainder of the game after that in a good display of hurling by the lads.
Final score 2-14 to 0-09

Fe 16
We travelled to Brinny last Thursday to take on Valley Rovers in the Premier 1 Hurling League. This was our second visit to Brinny this year and we were hoping for a better result than the loss in the Premier 2 Football League previously. From the off it was a strong performance from us with points and a fine goal in the first half where we led by 1-07 to 0-02 at the break. The second half was more of the same with our lads proving too strong for their opposition on the night.

Our forwards scored heavily and with the assistance of some hard work in mid field our backs frustrated the Valley Rovers attacks. In the end it was a comfortable win for us on a scoreline of 4-13 to 0-07. Thanks as always to the Fe15's who helped out on the night.
Team: Alex Quirke, Leo Hennessy, David Scanlon, Patrick Kane, Jack Fitzpatrick, Christian Murphy, Charlie Walsh, Samuel Quirke, Ethan Daly, Gary Carroll, Aaron Mulcahy, Dan O'Sullivan, Tim O'Sullivan, Adam Meade, Cian Crowley, Paul Connaughton, Ben Cummins, Daragh Crowley &, Ryan Cahill.

On Saturday last our Fe16's welcomed Grangemockler Ballyneale from Tipperary for a challenge game before the Premier boys trip to the newly opened Pairc Ui Chaoimh. As it turned out it was to be a good run out for us without too much pressure. We got to swap around some positions, use a good sized subs bench and we won handily in the end.
Thanks to the Tipp lads for the challenge, the Fe 15's for their efforts and to the parents a big thanks for the food they brought for after the game.
Team: Alex Quirke, Leo Hennessy, Dave Scanlon, Patrick Kane, Dan O'Sullivan, Christian Murphy, Charlie Walsh, Samuel Quirke, Ethan Daly, Gary Carroll, Aaron Mulcahy, Cian Crowley, Paul Connaughton, Adam Meade, Tim O'Sullivan, Tony Carey, Ben Cummins, Conor Hayes, Ryan Cahill, Conor Fitzgerald & Daragh Crowley.
