Midleton Gaa, Camogie & Ladies Football Club News

29 January, 2017

Inter County Hurling
The Cork senior hurlers had an exciting win over Limerick Sunday afternoon at the Gaelic Grounds in the final of the Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League by 1-21 to 1-20 .
A late goal by Alan Cadogan proved to be decisive, well done to Conor Lehane who scored 0-03, Kilian Burke who came on at halftime, Paul Haughney was an used substitute and selector Pat Hartnett.
Last Wednesday in the penultimate game of the same League Cork defeated Clare in Sixmilebridge by 0-19 to 0-15. Killian Burke and Paul Haughney both returned from recent injurys and played at half back and mid field respectively, Conor Lehane was the scorer in chief at centre forward scoring 0-08 (4 frees).

Colleges Hurling
Last Saturday afternoon in Mallow Midleton CBS hurlers lost out to rivals St Colman’s Fermoy in the Harty Cup semi final before a crowd of almost 3,000 by 1-08 to 0-07.
In heavy under foot conditions the sides went in level at the break 0-03 a piece.
A goal midway through the second half proved vital for St Colman’s and unfortunately CBS could not breach their defence despite some close attempts.
Hard luck to Adam Daly, Sean O’Leary Hayes and Ryan Mc Conville who all played in defence, Sean O’Meara captained the side from mid field and Padraig O’Brien was a late substitute. Also to Alywin Kearney the team manager and the other members of the panel Liam Franklin, Sean O’Sullivan, Christopher Power, Cathal Gunning, Arthur Nganou, David Mulcahy, Ciaran Evans and Luke Smith.
