Last weekend the Club was a hive of activity with Bank of Ireland taking over the place as Midleton had been chosen for their Enterprise town project “Working together to support local communities”.

Ladies Football
What a day for our Fe14 girls. East Cork U14 Champions, defeating near neighbours Cloyne in a very entertaining game. Our girls gave a fantastic performance and really upped their game for this final. Midleton lead from the start and never gave that lead up. In fairness to Cloyne they came at us in the second half and camped in our goal mouth, but our girls strong in defence were able to keep them out. Great excitement and celebrations followed the final whistle. Well done girls ye were fantastic. Congratulations to all girls involved and to the Mentors.

U8 League Midleton v Inch Rovers
On Saturday morning our U8 Girls travelled to Killeagh to play Inch Rovers in their last League game for 2015. Midleton proved to be too strong on the day but the Inch Girls fought till the final whistle. Many Thanks again to the Parents who brought their girls out for an early start. Best wishes and good luck to the Fe12 girls who are now moving up to Fe10’s.

Fe9
On Saturday last the Fe9's travelled a short distance to Carrigtwohill for the last of this year’s Monster blitzes. On what was a bitterly cold morning we fielded three teams of ten players. Each and every player gave it their all and there was no shortage of courage and commitment from these young Magpies. With plenty of tackles, blocking and hooking on show as well as catching and plucking balls from the air!  Midleton opposition were; Team 1: Aghada, Watergrasshill and Carrigtwohill, Team 2: Youghal, Carrigaline and Aghada. Team 3: Watergrasshill, Carrigaline and Carrrigtwohill. To top off a great mornings hurling and a great season the boys were presented with medals by Cork GAA hurling star, Brian Lawton. We would like to extend our thanks to Brian Lawton, to Carrigtwohil GAA club for hosting the event and to Colm Crowley GDA for organising the monster blitz series. Thanks also to the coaches and parents who have helped out over the season and to Andrew Foley for his photographic expertise, which is greatly appreciated. We are taking a short but well deserved break from training, parents will be contacted soon with our winter training schedule.

Fe11
We were up early Saturday morning for an end of year day out. Ballygunner was our desalination and we played four hurling games. We were a bit slow to get ourselves going on the field as the lads were singing all the way down on the bus. Many thanks to Ballygunner for their hospitality. The day ended with McDonald's in Dungarvan and more sing on the home, overall it was a great day out!!
