Juvenile Notes

Juvenile AGM
The Midleton Juvenile Club held its AGM on Thursday 29th of November. There was a good turnout of interested people from both adult and juvenile areas of the club.
Juvenile Chairman Cormac Quirke and Secretary Michael Franklin read out their respective reports on the year just gone. Followed by reports from each team, the highlight being the Fe15 report which included the County A Hurling win and the A League win.
Following the reports the floor commented on how well the juvenile club had acquitted itself over the year and paid special tribute to the fundraising efforts. Mary Quinn came in for high praise for her running of the finances in a year where costs needed to be reduced.
Niall O’Neill (Adult Chairman) oversaw the election of officers which saw no changes with the exception of Jim O’Sullivan (Outgoing Rebel Óg representative) who unfortunately is stepping down.
Returning chairman Cormac Quirke gave praise to the efforts of Jim O’Sullivan over a good number of years looking after the East Cork Board representation, the summer Cúl Camps and the Christmas Raffle. We hope Jim will remain close to the club and allow his experience to be called upon.

Midleton CBS Wins
Congratulations to the Midleton CBS senior hurlers on their Callaghan Cup victory last friday night in CIT were they defeated Patrician Academy Mallow by 2.11 v 1.06.
Club players included Alan Stanton, Darren Quirke (capt), Padraic Nagle, Seanaidh Smyth, Bryan Rossiter, Gavin Bagnell, Sean O Farrell and Conan Finnegan.
Best of luck to them next Wednesday when they play Nenagh CBS in a crucial Harty Cup qualifier in Charleville. This follows their defeat of Hamilton High School (Bandon) of a scoreline of 1-10 to 1-07.

Training
With the nights closing in and the main pitch closing for the winter team training venues and times will be changing. Keep an eye on the club website www.midletongaa.com on the juvenile team page for your child’s team training times. Team managers will update teams by text when changes are due. We would ask parents to encourage their children to practice during the week even if the weather is bad, parents can practice catching the ball indoors. For players from junior infants to Fe 9 please remember to bring your €2 to training sessions. This money is vital to keep the juvenile section of the club funded.

Christmas Raffle Tickets
Anyone looking for tickets can get them from the club bar or from juvenile team managers.
Those who have sold their tickets or have unsold tickets please bring them back to your next training session or to Jim O’Sullivan, Mary Quinn or Cormac Quirke.
Many thanks to our prize sponsors again this year who have again come up trumps for the club.
