Juvenile Notes

Fe-11

Midleton V Blarney
For anyone who was in the club on Thursday 28th June you would have been forgiven if you thought it was February. Midleton missed out on the floods but we got a blast of the rain before and during the Fe 11 match against Blarney. Due to low numbers we played only one team with players being rotated regularly with subs on the line. Considering the conditions the lads did well. they got an early goal followed shortly after by another goal line scrambled effort.
Midleton never lost that lead but were put under pressure for the rest of the match by an eager Blarney team.
Both sets of players despite the weather made good use of the ball and on another night scores for both teams might have been a good deal higher.
Well done to all who played and a big thanks to the Blarney mentors who made the trip on a night when others might have stayed at home.

Midleton V Mallow
This was the final match in this years Rebel Óg league before the finals later in the summer. We welcomed Mallow to Clonmult Memorial Park following our earlier trip to Mallow for the Football. Mallow travelled brought 16 players with them so we played two matches of 8 a side. It made a nice change to have dry skies and with the pitch in great shape we were ready for a decent couple of games. Fortunately thats the way it played out. Both teams got stuck in from early on and kept the ball moving.
The kids got a reminder of the importance of staying close to their markers when a few hits on hands and legs went in because they were too far away in the challenge.
some great scores on both sides made this a great finish to the first stage of the competition. Midleton came out on top in both matches and go to the top of the league.
Well done to all who played and many thanks to Blarney mentors and parents for making the trip.

Training
Training is in full swing for Juvenile teams. Check the club website www.midletongaa.com on the juvenile team page for your child’s team training times. We would ask parents to encourage their children to practice during the week even if the weather is bad, parents can practice catching the ball indoors. Please remember to bring your €2 to training sessions. This money is vital to keep the juvenile section of the club funded.
We have re commenced the coffee morning on Saturdays. Parents with children practicing can get a free cup of coffee and admire their kids in action. Many thanks to those parents who are helping with the teas and coffees.

Club Gear
Midleton GAA juvenile club will have a shop with club playing and leisure wear open each Saturday morning in the clubhouse.

Kellogs 2012 Cúl Camp
The Kellogs Cúl Camp starts this week in Midleton GAA Club. Each days training starts at 10am and kids should be picked up at 2.30pm inside the club. Further details on  www.midletongaa.com .
