Kellogg's New Sponsor of GAA Cul Camps

On Tuesday night last, Cork starsPaudie O’Sullivan and Conor Lehane were on hand to help launch the Cork Kellogg’sCul Camps. 2012 will see almost 5,000 boys and girls involved in camps across Cork.

Camps will start on 25thJune 2012 and will run until late August. Below information is contained forall clubs. Please make sure you read the information clearly. Information for clubs

Almost halfa million children between 6 and 12 years of age, have participated in GAA CúlCamps in the last six years and speaking at the launch of a new three yearsponsorship between the Kellogg Company of Ireland and GAA,Ard Stiúrthóir, Páraic Ó Dufaigh,said that the GAA is optimistic that these numbers can continue to grow, nowthat Kellogg has come on board, as a major new sponsor.

“We are delighted to be embarking on a new three yeardeal with Kellogg. We expect that the numbers participating in Kellogg’s GAACúl Camps can now grow further in 2012, with the support we will be putting behindthe initiative this year. We know that children participating in Kellogg’s GAACúl Camps develop excellent skills and lasting friendships and that is whyalmost 80,000 children sign up to our camps, every year.”

 €5 online discount

In celebration of the new partnership, promotionalpacks of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies will feature aunique code, which can be used online by parents to receive a €5 discount offthe fee of €55 for the 2012 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps. The unique codes will beprinted on the inside of promotional packs, available in stores from mid-Aprilto August 2012 and one code can be used per child, per registration, to availof the €5 discount. Parents, simply log on to www.gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps to avail of this discount. Further discounts are available to families thatregister more than one child for a 2012 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp, making them oneof the most affordable national summer camps

Kellogg'sCul Camp Ethos

Kellogg's GAA CúlCamps provide boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 – with anaction-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays whichrevolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement inGaelic Games

Activities are GAME - BASED – astrong emphasis is placed on skill acquisition -and are organised in an age appropriate manner with a view to:

·       optimising learning

·       enhancing friendships

·       improving physical &psychological well being

·       promoting school and club links

 

KEY FEATURES ABOUT KELLOGG'S GAA CÚL CAMPS

·       The camps are structured so that adifferent aspect of the game is worked on each day.

·       The programme involves coachingspecific skills of the game and the opportunity for children to put intopractice what they have learned through small sided games.

·       On the last day of the camp a"blitz" will be organised to provide each child with an introductionto competitive games.
