Senior Hurling League Final
Midleton 1-14 Sarsfields 2-17
Our Senior Hurlers League campaign came to a disappointing end on Saturday evening last when we went down to East Cork rivals Sarsfields by six points in the League final. In an entertaining encounter played to a high standard it was nip and tuck for the first half. We responded well to an early Sars goal and scored some excellent point only for Sars to rally strongly before half time. We trailed by a point, 0-10 to 1-08 at the short whistle. Sars goaled early in the second half and extended their lead to six points. We pulled it back to four but that was as close as we got. We were chasing the game after that and never looked like bridging the gap. The players battled away hard right to the end against an impressive looking Sarsfields team. While disappointing to lose any final we can have no complaints on the night. We have a young talented team and this game will serve as good preparation for the upcoming Fe 21 county final which is scheduled for November 20th. The Management team and the players have to be commended on their efforts throughout the year, although we have no silverware at senior level a county semi final and league final is not to be dismissed lightly.
Team: T. Wallis, P.O’Mahony, D,Ryan, K. Burke, F.O’Mahony, J. Nagle, P.O’Shea, S. O’Farrell, P.O’Keeffe, C. Lehane, A.Ryan, K.Mulcahy, L.O’Farrell, S.Moore, P. Haughney. Subs Used P.White and P.Barry

Best Wishes
The Adult section of Midleton GAA would like to wish our friend and fellow member Cian McCarthy a speedy recovery.

Junior B Hurling Final Replay
It is back to Castlemartyr this coming Saturday, 12th, for our B Grade Hurlers as they prepare to face St. Catherines in a replay of the East Cork Final. Both teams will probably have been happy enough with the draw after the first game as it could have went either way in a hectic last ten minutes. Midleton were under pressure for large parts of the drawn game and will have to raiset heir game if they want to claim the title against a well organised looking St. Catherines team. Throw in is at 2pm and your support on the day would be much appreciated by the lads.

Fe-13
Our Fe-13 Footballers entertained Mayfieldin the semi-final of the Premier 2 Football Championship on Sat last Nov5th. We were short 3 players from our win in the previous round and knowinghow strong a league campaign Mayfield had we knew this was going to bea tough test. The boys however ripped into this game from the start andtook the game to the visitors and took some great scores to lead at halftime by 2-7 to 1-3. Credit must go to all 20 boys who on the day turnedin a great display of team work again in the second half to beat a veryfancied side by 4-13 to 4-7 and this goes to show just what these boyscan do when they play as unit.
Our panel on the day was - J Roche (capt),L Franklin, A Daly, T Abdullah, C O'Neill, C Evans, R O'Regan, S O'Leary,S O'Meara, G Manley, C Daly, J O'Dwyer, E Moloney, R O'Connor, P O'Brien,S O'Brien, D Cahalane, C Shanahan, PJ Fitzgearld and C Power.
The date of the final is fixed for SatNov 19th and we await to see who wins the second semi-final between Blarneyand Mitchelstown before we know the time and venue for this.
We also have a football league Semi-Finalv Sam Maguires fixed for Sat next Nov 12th in a venue TBC and have a HurlingLeague Qtr-Final v Carrigtwohill to play so these boys have a number ofbusy weeks still ahead.

Indoor Training
Training re commenced in the Community Centre for our younger players on the 5th November. We also welcomed the latest batch of hurlers to Midleton GAA Club on the same day. Just under 40 boys turned out for their first training session and no doubt will keep mentors; Martin McSweeney and Mickey O’Connell busy over the next while. Thank you to all who helped out on the first day back.

Ladies Football
Midleton U10 Girls East Cork Football Champions: Saturday 29th October Midleton Girls U10 Gaelic Football team played in the East Cork Final in Carrigtohill V Fermoy. Midleton played against a stiff breeze in the first half. The Midleton defence stood together as a unit throughout the first half and conceded only one point in the twenty minute half. The midfield worked tirelessly and the forward line took both scoring opportunities that came their way in the half. Midleton took a two points to one point lead into the half time break. The second half started just as the first half finished with the Midleton girls working their socks-off to keep in control of the game. A great goal followed by two more points, some great goalkeeping and another outstanding performance in defence from the young magpies gave them a little breathing space coming up to the full time whistle. The game finished with Midleton taking the title 1-4 (Shauna Horgan 1-0, Aine O’Neill 0-2, Aoife Mitchell and Sadhbh Beausang 0-1 each),  to Fermoy’s 2 points.
Thanks to everyone who has given their time to the cause over the last twelve months, especially mentors and parents.
