Midleton Ladies Football Get 2011 Underway

The Under 16 team travelled to Inch Rovers last Sunday to play the first
round of the East Cork League. The girls put in a great performance and ran
out winners on a score line of 5-10 to 1-4, there next test will be against
Bride Rover which will be a home game. A number of Doungourney girls have
started training with Midleton over the past few weeks, and on Sunday Ann
Marie Rohan made her first appearance in the Midleton colours. The club are
delighted to welcome the Doungourney girls into the Midleton club and their
addition is very welcome. We would like to welcome Damien Behan into the
club, Damien is originally from Kerry so we are thrilled that he has joined
Jimmy McEvoy and Ray O'Brien as part of the management team for the U16's.

The club would like to congratulate Shannon Burke and Sarah Fahy who have
made the Cork U16 Panel for 2011. This is a great achievement for both
girls and we are all looking forward to seeing both girls put on the Red
and White this coming year. The club are very proud to have another two
girls in the Cork Ladies Football set up.

We would like to wish Leah McEvoy and Niamh O'Farrell the best of luck this
week, as they take part in the final trials for the Cork U14 Ladies Team.
Fingers Crossed all goes well for Leah and Niamh.

Our U14's get there season off the ground next week when they play
St.Coleman in the 1st round of the East Cork League, best of luck to all
the girls for the coming season.

Orlagh Farmer has got her intercounty season off to a great start with the
Cork Ladies Senior Team. Orlagh has played the first two Bord Gais League
games against Kildare and Monaghan, she scored in both games. Cork beat
Kildare in the opening game but suffered a three point defeat last Sunday
to Monaghan. They now face a stiff test at home against Mayo in the next
round.

Midleton will be hosting Wicklow for the up coming Feile which takes place
on the 30th June, 1st July and 2 nd July. This is a great event for the
club to look forward to during the summer.

U 8's and U 10's train on a Monday Night, U12's on Thursday, U14 and U16's
on Wednesday Night, Minor and Junior on Wednesday night. Anyone interesting
