Camogie

27 May, 2019

The U14 Camogie team played their 3rd league match on Sunday 26th May against a strong Aghabullogue on a beautiful sunny morning in the Ballinacurra GAA pitch.
Our opponents decided to play with the wind in the first half and came straight out of their traps at full speed and ran at the Midleton defence in waves during the early exchanges. Despite being under constant pressure in the first 15mins, Midleton were only 0-1 down and eventually the girls began to get to the pace of the game and find their scoring range and managed to carve out a half-time lead of 1-3 to 0-2 despite playing into a stiff wind.

The second half saw Midleton dominate in the early exchanges and add a couple of goals to add to the advantage, however Aghaboullouge fought back gallantly and added a couple of late scores to leave the final score 3-6 to 0-4 to Midleton.
The match was a tough encounter but also gave us an opportunity to give some valuable pitch time to our younger U13 panel members ahead of the national Feile competition in addition to trying some girls indifferent locations.
This leaves us with 2 wins out of 3 ahead of our final league encounter against Watergrasshill before the Summer recess.

Scorers for Midleton:
Rachel Ryan 2-1
Emily Lamb 1-3
Emma O'Sullivan 0-1
Anna Sheehan 0-1
