Last Saturday – 15th October - Midleton Girls U10 Gaelic Football team played in the East Cork semi-final in Watergrashill; V Watergrasshill. The game started in a welter of excitement, Midleton had a goal and 2 points on the score board after five minutes. The Midleton girls continued to dominate in all sections of the field for the remainder of the first half. At half time the girls had registered 2-4 on the score board: Aine O’Neill 1-1, Aoife Mitchell 1-2, Eva Nestor 0-1 and Lucy Wallis 0-1. The second half had everything you would want in a match, great skill, fever pitch excitement and flowing football. At the end of a hard fought game Midleton emerged as winners on a score line of 3-5 to 2-2. Second half scorers for Midleton: Aine O’Neill 1-0, Lucey Wallis 0-1 (45m free).
